Roosterteeth is finally moving forward with a feature length film, and the bigger this is the better it gets!
In other news, they also started production on Day 5 this week (finally, they filmed the trailer back at RTX 2012), and hopefully we'll get to see something of that by the end of the year.

Big big excitement

Posted by Voltex Oblige , in Life, Film/Shows May 22 2014 · 54 views

At the very least, it is reassuring to know that I will be able to look forward to another spectacular soundtrack when the season is over; I loved the soundtrack for Volume 1.
Finally Weiss figurine
I haven't had the money to get the Ruby figure yet, but maybe I can convince someone to get me Weiss for my birthday or something.
Anyway back to more important things!

This is interesting...

So after Shockwave pointed out that the red 'bot in the trailer was Stinger and not Cliffjumper I cried for a little bit. Then I found this still online:

Look at the sign on the right, and all the stuff in the back. It looks like humans are creating Transformers of their own, and Stinger is one of the prototypes.
That could explain why he's not murdering the human or Bumblebee in this scene (specifically Bumblebee), since as far as I'm aware Stinger is usually a Decepticon?

Age of Extinction

New trailer released today. I'd out it here but some language that might be considered "inappropriate" for BZP is in it. So.
That said... I will cry if that is not Cliffjumper I saw.

One of the Greatest

I'm hoping to do a full (spoiler free!) review of The LEGO Movie as soon as possible. For now, however, I will simply say that the film is an instant classic - it will go down in time alongside the best of the best. The film takes everything you know and spins it around a dozen times, flipping everything into a new perspective and sometimes arriving back where it started. There are very few films that I have wanted to continue watching after they ended (I can count them on one hand), and The LEGO Movie is one of them. There are no excuses to not see it.

All Hail the King

That was certainly enlightening...
...not to mention taking the story exactly where I had expected after seeing Iron Man 3.
Woo, called it.

Red vs. Blue Season 12

Announced with a pretty sweet promo image
I'm looking forward to Tucker's story arc this season (whatever it may be).

Transformers: Age of Extinction Trailer

Posted by Voltex Oblige , in Film/Shows Feb 02 2014 · 132 views

I know that in a year I'll be looking back on this movie and dismissing it as pretty terrible (like Dark of the Moon) or an outright atrocity (Revenge of the Fallen), but I can't help it I just can't wait for more giant robot explosions. ;__;
If there's anyone well-versed in Transformers stuff, I am curious as to who that green one might be?
E: Never mind; looks like it's Crosshairs.

This is gonna be tough to pull off - attempting to decide BZPower's favorite video game character and BZPower's favorite movies on the same blog.
I'll make do.
With the announcement of the nominees for the 86th Academy Awards, I figured, why not? We'll make some of our own!
(If you'd like to help the Voltex Association with designing a trophy, please do so).
This is going to be voted on entirely by you guys (and me because I am one of you) - so here's the deal. First, we need nominations for the nominations! Which means that, for each category, you can submit one option - and don't worry about multi-nominations; if Tom Hanks is selected for his role in Captain Phillips and Saving Mr. Banks, that is totally okay. If someone has already nominated your choice, just note that you are repeating the suggestion.
Now we move onto the categories that you can vote for.
Best Film (for simplicity's sake, consider foreign language films acceptable here, as well as documentaries)
Best Animated Film
Best Short Film (animated or live-action)
Best Actor
Best Actress
Best Supporting Actor
Best Supporting Actress
Best Director
Best Soundtrack/Score
Best Original Song
Best Writing (adapted or original)
Also, before you get mad at anybody who votes... remember that the chances of everyone seeing every film are 0.
I suppose I'll vote eventually. My choices are probably going to be picked fairly quickly regardless.
