It is so beautiful

Even better, though, is that I still have two days to return the black controller to EB Games and get a refund from them! Everything is working out, huzzah! This is also the part of the show where I publicly thank JMJ for the GCN adapter that he's sent to me, even though it hasn't arrived yet (whenever it does there will, of course, be an entry to celebrate the momentous occasion).

Anyway, that's all for now!

The Nintendo Conspiracy is slowly being overcome!

RUMOR: Amiibo Discontinued (Smash Files 65)

Not all Amiibo, mind you. But three in particular. Those three are the Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, and Marth - rumors circulate the internet hinting that these three might be gone from shelves forever once the current stock is out. Now, had I been thinking, they would have been the first three I purchased; however, I was not thinking, and so only Wii Fit Trainer was included in my first set. That said, at the first sound of shortages, I rushed online to look for both Marth and Villager.

I might never get the GCN adapter, but if my goal is to collect every Smash Amiibo, then I need to be on the top of my game. I managed to find Villager and Marth on ebay for decent prices (read: no more than two dollars above regular, before shipping), and they arrived yesterday alongside Kirby and Fox (I bought the latter two from a retail site though). So, this situation is obviously frustrating; I don't understand why Nintendo wouldn't even stock enough Amiibo figures and GCN adapters to at least last through the end of the year.

It'll be money back in my pocket when I return my GCN controller

So Walmart.ca has the Gamecube controller adapter back in stock! Hurray!

...but they don't accept Paypal and I lack a credit card. Back to the drawing board.

In other news, if any of you live in Canada and do have a credit card, I will gladly pay you for both the adapter and shipping if you're willing to buy it and then ship it to me once it arrives. :)

My First Amiibo! (Smash Files 63)

The first step in my journey to collect every single Super Smash Bros. Amiibo figure begins! Mario and Wii Fit Trainer arrived in the mail today, and Samus is currently en route. I must say, I'm rather impressed; while in pictures the plastic "cast" on the Wii Fit Trainer's foot looked terrible, in person it's not actually that distracting. Would the figure be better without it? Absolutely - that goes without question. But it is not entirely detrimental to the design.

As for Mario, he's a whole different story... in a good way! The detail on his figure is very nice, and I especially like the fireball. Of note is that his pants have actually had a yellowish tint painted on to represent the glow from the fireball; that's an extremely neat detail that I don't think I've seen in a toy before. If we could see more Amiibo figures like Mario's in the future, I certainly would not complain!

Down below I've included a picture of both Amiibo figures; as I get more, I shall post my progress. Once I have obtained all of the first wave, I shall stack them up against each other and determine my favourites.

Yes, that is the shadow of my head.

So - in the comments below you can recommend which Amiibo figures I should try and get next! I'm keeping them in their cases for now (my hope at the moment is to have a complete collection of unopened Super Smash Bros. Amiibos), but that might change at a later date? We'll see.

You see that thing in the back? That is the Wii U. I own this.
You see that thing in the front? That is the special Smash Edition Gamecube controller, released today alongside Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.
You see that thing in the middle? That is the special adapter, required for using the above Gamecube controller.

I do not have this.

I walked into EB Games today, in my little ugly stupid town where everyone hates Nintendo, and purchased the Gamecube controller when I discovered that the special controller bundle was out of stock (here? seriously?). But there were no more controller adapters. Curious, I asked the guy behind the counter when I could expect to see them back in.

And he told me that I should not get my hopes up - that Nintendo had apparently contacted their corporate office recently and informed them that no more of the Gamecube controller adapters would be sold. They would not be restocked.

So now, my journey begins - I have 30 days to find a controller adapter and purchase it before I must return my Smash Edition Gamecube controller. An epic quest to play Smash Bros. the way that it's meant to be played... it starts now.

In other news, I now own Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

Jigglypuff Profile

Species: Jigglypuff
Series: Pokemon
First Appearance: Pokemon Red and Blue (Gameboy, 1998)

Favourite Appearance: None. I hate Jigglypuff in all ways, shapes, and forms.
Party: 1st
Known For: Being stupid
Excitement Factor: 0/10 - Please remove Jigglypuff now

Dr. Jigglypuff will be the next clone character ugh

THE ULTIMATE TROLL (Smash Files 60) [spoilers]

Posted by CHRIS PRATT , in Smash Files Nov 06 2014 · 137 views

At this point we're on the verge of the release for Smash Wii U, so if you don't know the entire roster at this point, this is on you.

Duck Hunt Profile
Posted Image
Species: Dog + Duck
Series: Duck Hunt
First Appearance: Duck Hunt (NES, 1985)

Favourite Appearance: Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS (3DS, 2014)
Party: 1st
Known For: Being old, being annoying, being the ultimate troll, being the only four-legged fighter in SSB4, being a dog, being a duck, being both a dog and a duck
Excitement Factor: 8/10 - I've had ample opportunities to use Duck Hunt by now (which still doesn't make any sense as a fighter name but whatever), and I really enjoy it. In fact, I enjoy it enough to not care about the fact that this is yet another character that nobody was asking for (I mean seriously, everybody wants Ridley but we get characters like Wii Fit Trainer and Duck Hunt instead?). Anyway.

And so they soared through the open air, as I tumbled in the dirt below them.

ALL OF THE not-so 50 FACTS (Smash Files 58)

Posted by CHRIS PRATT , in Smash Files Oct 25 2014 · 130 views

Since I'm short on time (and there's so much material, and you can literally find this same list everywhere), this is merely a list with some thoughts from myself.

1. 3DS Secret Characters as starters: Honestly a little disappointed with this. I'm all for having a different starting roster from the 3DS version, but I love unlocking characters, and now there will be far less of that.
2. Higher resolution
3. Eight Player Smash: HECK YEAH! I just wish I had a way to get eight people in the same room... and room for eight people.
4. Bigger Stages: This means that the Hyrule Temple stage from Melee is back again, and that is awesome. I love that stage.
5. Danger Zones: I feel like they might make certain stages more annoying to play on than they should be, especially regarding the insta-KO if you're above 100%.
6. Two Plane Battles: It's odd to see a feature like this on the Wii U but not the 3DS, but also understandable. This stage looks like a lot of fun.
7. More Stages: This is good... I feel like the 3DS was low on stages. Maybe just low on ones that I really like.
8. Miiverse Stage: Looks okay, I guess.
9. Palutena Commentary
10. Metal Face appears
11. Ridley: This is just an insult to those who want Ridley to be playable, it really is. Make him 1/3 the size he is right now and a little fast and BOOM. I mean obviously more work than that, but come on...
12. Coin Battles
13. Stamina: Good!
14. Special Smash returns
15. Item Frequency: A feature that should have been in the 3DS version as well.
16. My Music: One of my favourite features.
17. Menu Music
18. Wii U has more music than 3DS
19. More Composers
20. Collect CDs in-game
21. More Challenges than 3DS Version: Awesome. [/sarcasm]
22. Classic Mode: My interest is piqued. The 3DS classic mode is my favourite yet, so we'll see how the Wii U version stacks up.
23. Classic Mode movies: Haven't these been in place in the series forever?
24. All-Star Mode: Meh, not really an exciting change.
25. Event Mode: Looks like a refreshing change.
26. Smash Tour: Looks very interesting! I'll definitely have to give it a few spins.
27. Target Blast
28. Multiplayer Stadium
29. Special Orders: I feel like I won't bother with this mode much.
30. Master Fortress: Seems interesting. If the stage is the entire boss fight (and you don't have to battle the other Master Core forms as well), I'm all in.
31. Lots of Controllers
32. GCN Controllers: Old hat.
33. 3DS as Controller: Also old hat.
34. Custom Characters from 3DS to Wii U: Even older hat.
35. More Trophies
36. Final Smash Trophies: I've made it a goal to complete Classic Mode on the 3DS once with every character. I shall make it my goal to complete All-STar mode once with every character on the Wii U.
37. Trophy Box
38. Photo Studio: Looks like something I'll enjoy.
39. Trophy Rush
40. Masterpieces: This... isn't new. It was in Brawl as well.
41. Level up Amiibo: If they can become stronger than CPUs then heck yeah! And even still, heck yeah! Amiibo!
42. Wii LAN Adapter
43. Notifications
44. Local Co-Op Online: I'll give this a try.
45. Eventually Host Tournaments: BZPower Tourney, anyone?
46. Nintendo Tournaments: I wonder how many?
47. Typical GamePad usage
48. Draw on screenshots, share online: I'll share my best pictures.
49. Voice Chat
50. Stage Builder: Also should have been on 3DS. Looks much better than in Brawl though, very excited.
51. Eventually share stages: Please come soon.
52. Movies In-Game: Awesome!
53. Club Nintendo CDs: Old hat; I've known about the promotion forever and I can't wait to become eligible.
54. Mewtwo DLC: Already touched upon, but am excited.
55. Bowser Jr. Announced: Also already touched on.

However, this does not mean we no longer want to kill the rest of you for evading death. In fact, we would like to destroy you all, because we feel like it and we're the bad guys, the latter of which we only just realised.

...You guys didn't realize we were the villains all along?

You thought I was a good guy? ? ?

None of us are actually competent. We run around like headless chickens, if headless chickens were capable of wielding assault rifles and broadswords.
