My lack of PS3 has left me in despair!

So, I am currently lamenting the fact that I do not have possession of a PS3, which I really want, probably because the PS3 has lots of games that I want to buy, like 2nd Super Robot Wars Original Generations and Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3.

Yes yes, I know that 2nd SRW OGs is only in Japanese, and that DW: Gundam 3 is also for the 360, but mecha games man, mecha games. Of course, the only thing I really hate about the PS3 is the fact that Warriors Orochi 3 is on PSN or whatever it's called.

I really have no idea; all I own is a PSP, and what is this WiFi Internet you speak of?

The Oda Clan Takes Over The World

Posted by Onarax , in Gaming Sep 17 2012 · 130 views
total war, shogun 2, oda clan and 2 more...
So many, many weeks ago I bought Total War: Shogun 2 off Steam during the annual Summer Sale or something for 75% off, which meant it was reduced from $50 to $12.50. Pretty good deal if you ask me. Being an Australian of course, and the prices being in US dollars, I had an extra thirty cent reduction, compared to the US dollar price.

Anyway, back then, I finished some of the tutorials, and basically left it on my hard drive until the start of these holidays, when I decided to try playing again.

The first thing I did was play as the Takeda clan. They have cheap cavalry, which is cool, but I absolutely sucked at it. I kept on running out of money and barely surviving against the strong factions around me. Making alliances was all I could do.

So I started up another campaign, this time as the Oda, in which I was surrounded by lots of hostile factions, along with a civil war occurring right as I begun.

Took out the rebellion, and promptly annihilated my enemies, before beginning my journey to take over the world.

I just need to somehow get around all my trade partners and allies to a faction that I am enemies with ...

Sanger Zonvolt As Playable Character In Project X Zone. What?

sanger zonvolt and 4 more...
So there's a crossover game for the Nintendo 3DS coming out later this year or something named Project X Zone, which is a strategy RPG featuring characters from the game companies SEGA, Namco Bandai and Capcom.

Except I didn't expect for Namco to bring out SANGER ZONVOLT, THE SWORD THAT SMITES EVIL as a playable character in the game. With his Colossal Blade of course. Only downsized. For human use. Instead of that katana he possesses and randomly takes out every times he SMITES EVIL in his mecha.

Sanger Zonvolt using a Colossal Blade without the use of any of his mechs (Thrudgelmir, Grungust Type 0, Grungust Type 3 or Dygenguard) is both awesome and ridiculous at the same time. But hey, if Axel Almer can throw energy blasts without the use of the Soulgain in Endless Frontier EXCEED then Sanger should be able to hold a giant sword.

Here is a picture of him holding his giant sword. Yes. He is only using one arm and a shoulder to support it.

Completion Of Super Robot Wars Original Generation

SRW OG, SRW, Mecha
So today I finally finished both Super Robot Wars Original Generation 1 and 2, which basically means I've completed most of the Original Generation games except for Gaiden and OGs. This is because I don't have a Playstation 2, nor have they been translated into English. They probably won't be anyway, seeing that the PS2 is already dead.

Anyway, after beating the two games, I have chosen my favourite robot in the game - the Giganscudo.

As you can see, it's rather bulky, probably because it's 70.3 metres tall and 451.9 tons in weight. I also like its upgrade, the Giganscudo Duro, which is just the Gigan with more armour and durability. Oh yeah, and its heavier.

The Gigan is piloted by the mechanic known as Tasuku Shinguji, who hijacked it from the hangar bays of the Hiryu Custom in order to stop Sanger Zonvolt's Grungust Type 0 from cleaving the battleship in two with a giant sword known as the Colossal Blade, which, according to Sanger, can cut anything.

Discounting the Gigan and Wodan Ymir's own Colossal Blade that is.

SRW has also given me a new favourite battleship, the Kurogane.

Yes, you are not dreaming. There is a giant drill installed onto the bow of a battleship.

It's captained by Elzam V. Branstein, but during the later parts of SRW OG2 Tetsuya captains it after taking a level in awesome. He also gets a Crowning Moment of Awesome while in charge of it.

I Am Terrible At Dwarf Fortress

Posted by Onarax , in Gaming Oct 22 2011 · 84 views
Dwarf Fortress
Although it is rather unconventional for someone to post two blog posts in one day, I've decided to do exactly that. Why? Well I'm merely saddened by the fact I can't even mine in Dwarf Fortress.

For those who do not know what Dwarf Fortress is, it is basically a simulator of fantasy life created by one guy and his brother, just like Runescape, except that this game is much more complicated than RS and probably works on a smaller budget. However, the graphics are, well, ASCII.

Anyway, I can't seem to do anything properly in the game, so I'll just randomly rant about it.

Their motto makes sense though.

"Losing is fun."
