Minecraft Nuva Cube WIP

Posted by Jedi Master J. , in Minecraft Sep 02 2012 · 123 views

Hey, folks. I am just popping in to show you guys a little project that I was working on "yesterday" at midnight. lol No doubt it has probably done already hundreds of times by now, but I thought I might as well do it since my other plan (Which involved building a Mata Nui mosaic) went down the tubes due my picture convertor not working right. :( Although I guess I should be gratefully for that since that Mata Nui mosaic would of taken more than a couple of hours to make. XD

But yeah, I made the Nuva Cube in Minecraft. I think it looks pretty good, although I do want to redo some of Nuva symbols as a few of them did not come out right. That and I think I might remove water inside the cube since I do not like having to use glass blocks in structure. Hm...I'll probably replace them with blue wool or something. *shrugs*

Oh, and I am also thinking about making Nuva Symbol keys as well and have them like floating a certain distance away from the cube itself to sort of match the comic moment, when the Bohrok Kal are just about to assemble the Nuva cube to free Bahrag. Although if I do end up doing that, I will probably have to remake the entire cube as I don't think it is high enough off the ground for that to actually work the way, I want it to. Hm...We will just have to wait and see, I guess.

And well, that's pretty much it for my Minecraft news. I am sorry if it was kind of boring for you folks to read, but thanks for taking the time to read it. Oh, and this misprint is still up for grabs, so if you want it shoot me a PM. Okay, well, I'll see you all later. :)

My Minecraft Summer Home

Posted by Jedi Master J. , in Minecraft, Random Jul 22 2012 · 86 views

Hey, folks. Today's entry going to about what I ended up building in Minecraft today since I do not really have much else to talk about at the moment. Now I am not sure if you all recall my previous Minecraft entries, but I been working on building a sandstone tower with a moat and high walls around it as shown here.

Well, as it turns out while I collecting material for continuing that project, I notice that I had a lot of dirt in a chest and I just to ponder what I could use this dirt for. One idea that came to mind was planting sea trees around the castle walls, which I didn't go with; but I may end up doing that in the future since have over a hundred saplings sitting in my Misc. chest.

Ultimately I decided that it might be cool to maybe build a mud hut somewhere away from my base and use it as kind of like my summer home. And well, after traveling east from my base, I end up building this little hut on a cliffside looking out to the ocean:

Yeah, I know it is not very impressive looking and really it is not supposed to be. But it is worth mentioning though that it is not finish yet since I actually plan to dig down inside it some, so I can have a ladder leading me down to a dock below sitting on the ocean. That and I want to give it a better looking roof since this flat plain roof just does not suit it well, I think. Hm...I also needed to go Spider hunt since I want a fish rod to put in the chest here.

Oh, and speaking of Minecraft, I think I might be starting a second world when 1.3 is added since I have notice that I have had a lot of trouble finding cats, wolves, and villagers in this world. That and I want to have a world that focus less so on building more on exploring since one of problems that I face in my current world is the fact that I set up projects that would probably be better suit for a creative world. *shrugs*

Although I kind like doing it like that because I like the challenge of having to gather all these resources to make an interesting looking building or structure rather than have it given to you. Still the issue is that I get too wrapped up in my projects that I don't put much time into exploring the world in great length. So yeah, I think I might start a new world for that reason. *shrugs*

In other non-Minecraft news, I seriously can not get BrickFair out of my head now that my friend confirmed yesterday he was still on board for taking a day trip to there on August the 4th (Saturday). So yeah, I am pretty excited about that. Although I am feeling a bit of anxiety about it as well since I know how terrible I am at talking to others. *shrugs* Although I am only going to be there during the public time, so I guess I do not have to worried too much about that. Beside, my friend going to be with me, so it is not like I am by myself (Which would of been the case, if I took a train down to Virginia).

But anyway, I think you got better things to do than listen to me ramble here, so I am calling this an entry. Before I go though, just ahead up there is probably not going to be entry tomorrow here since I want to focus on getting my review for Janus up, I hope you understand. Alright, thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope you all have good day. Night, BZPers.

Minecraft, Who's That Pokemon...

Posted by Jedi Master J. , in Minecraft, Pokemon, Random Jun 09 2012 · 127 views

Hey, folks. It been awhile, hasn't it? Well, not really, unless you consider two days without a blog entry as being awhile. :P But anyway, today's entry is going to have me talk a little about Minecraft here and introducing possibly a new feature to my blog involving Pokemon that I might be doing weekly. I also got an aside thing to mention here as well about my plans for my Blog's Literature Contest that I say would start June 16th.

So let's get this show on the road, shall we? First up is Minecraft, so I am going start things up for this topic by showing you the following screen shots that I took today while I was playing the game. The first picture is of my current work in progress base of operation's entrance, which I hope to eventually build up into massive castle like tower with high walls around it.

Now the second picture is inside the pit that I dug around this tower, which I am going to fill up with water and build up four escape towers for my underground glass cover bedroom (Which I guess is kind of pointless since this world is not on server, so I really should never need to have multiple escape routes as long as it is cover in light as it is. I guess I am doing it for rule of cool and imagination sake.).

Okay, so outside of showing you guys those pictures, I want to inquire something about Minecraft. And that is whether or not using an old Beta world file in current Minecraft version cause stuff like wolves, cats, and villages to spawn less. Does it? Just wondering because I barely explore this world in beta version and yet when I travel far from my base into unexplore regions, I can't find any villages, wolves, or cats. Then again, I might just not be traveling far enough. *shrugs* Hm...I guess that possible.

Okay, that's all I got for Minecraft topic. My next topic is Pokemon one and basically it is blog challenge for Pokemon fans to see if they can guess correctly who that Pokemon is based on a shade picture, I provided in the entry. Of course, I am not going to give you guys anything big, if you guess right since you could of just look it up. But I will post an entry the next day revealing who it was and go on to say some triva information about that Pokemon and I might also put a link to right guesser's profile in a content block.

Sorry, guys. I wish I could do better than that, but I can't confirm if you guys are cheaping or not, so the reward has to be as minor as that. Hopefully though, you guys have fun trying the challenge. But anyway, here is the first of hopefully many who's that Pokemon challenges:

Moving right along to my last topic of the day, I am here to tell you that I most likely will be postponing my writing contest, if only because Library Summer Olympics has start now as such I rather not distract anyone from official Staff hosted contest. As such, it will now start sometime in August.

Alright, that's all for today's entry. Thanks for taking the time to read this, guys. And I hope you all have a good night. See ya, BZPers.

Ah, Minecraft. Its Been Awhile, Hasn't It?

Posted by Jedi Master J. , in Minecraft, Random May 15 2012 · 76 views

Hey, folks again. I am just popping in to say that I got to play a bit of Minecraft today. Man, it has been awhile since I play it. I think the last time I actually play it was in December during my winter break and even then I was not playing it a whole lot.

lol Of course, I hardly classified the amount of time I spent playing it today as a whole lot either (I played for about three hours or so.), but my point is I am not very far into the game. I still got stone and iron tools, my character has no armor, and I have yet to dig myself a mine.

Oddly though that does not bug me and I spent most of my time today in game just work on my sandstone castle and flattening the land around it. Which I don't really have any really purpose doing, beside patching up a few holes in ground to cover up spots that I took sand out of. Well, I guess I am just doing it because I want to make sure there is no place for hostiles to hide and ambush me. Although then again, it is probably more just me being OCD since I tend to get that way in these types of games (You should see my Terraia world. I flatten everything near my base and even fill up a lake with dirt, so everything would be level with each other. :P ).

Oh, and not surprisingly a creeper blew up on me, while I was destroying a natural hill to flatten the land. lol I guess the creeper does not like me being OCD like that. Also another thing that I notice in this play-through is I seem to be getting hang of the controls much easier than I thought I would, so that took me a bit by surprise. I am still pretty slow going, which means I would no doubt annoyed more veteran PC gamers, if I were to play with them. It is progress though, so that's good sign (Admittedly it probably helps that I have the movement keys bound elsewhere since I imagine otherwise I would be clicking the wrong keys a lot when I want to move.).

In other non-Minecraft news, I am apparently getting R2-D2 much earlier than I thought I would since according to the tracker, he will be arrive this Thursday. I don't think I am going to do set review of him since he does have a lot of pieces and all and I would have to fight the desire to build him right away, if I did a review since I would have take pictures of pieces and stuff in the progress.

Either that or I could do a video, but I don't think I got a large enough memory card space to record myself building the whole thing on camera and then speeding it up for the video itself. Not only that, but it might take me a few days to actually finish it since I can't just keep building nonstop as I do have work the next day (That's one issue with being off from school I got work everyday, so free time is restrict to night hours after 6 PM EST.). So yeah, I don't think I am doing a review for this one. I might do a post-build review, if you guys want though (Which by the way, that's what I am doing for the Town Hall set. It is still missing a piece though, so that's on hold for time being.).

And in more life related news, the grade is still not in... And yeah, I am still as annoyed about it as I was yesterday. Unfortunately there is nothing that I can do about it really, so here's hoping it was submitted and just takes a bit of time to show up due to it being last semester grade and all as otherwise my classmates and I fail... :( Oh, and I still extremely nervous about having to do that award ceremony thing tomorrow. Argh, why it have to be me?

That's all the news I got for you. I am sorry if it wasn't too interesting. And well, thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope you all have a good day. Night, BZPers.
