Selling some Series 10 Minifigs

Posted by Kohaku , in Lego, Real Life, BZPower Jul 31 2013 · 96 views
Hurricane Sandy, Lego, Minifig and 1 more...
So recently I managed to obtain some of the Lego Minifigs from Series 10. Sealed. Of course while sealed both Aleks and myself felt each package and determined what was in each package. We have decided to sell them on BZPower to you guys. This is money that will be going towards a good cause and that is helping us exist a little bit longer as we try to get back in our home from Hurricane Sandy.

Minifigs Available:

$10 – Medusa - 2 Available
$5 – Roman Commander - 6 Available
$5 – Tomahawk Warrior - 9 Available
$5 – Skydiver - 6 Available
$7 – Paintball Player - 3 Available
$5 – Sad Clown - 1 Available
$5 – Revolutionary Soldier - 2 Available
$5 – Baseball Fielder - 4 Available
$9 – Trendsetter - 2 Available
$5 – Decorator - 5 Available
$5 – Motorcycle Mechanic - 9 Available

If you are interested, send me a PM. This is first come, first served. All prices USD. Some prices are flexible, especially if you purchase more than one minifig. However, every penny helps us out. Shipping still needs to be estimated, but should be under $1-2.

What a week!

Posted by Kohaku , in Other, Lego, Real Life, Video Games Jul 21 2013 · 86 views
Hurricane Sandy, Progress, Lego
So this past week has been insane.

Let's start with saying it was HOT HOT HOT!

Good news first!
I managed to pick up my first Lego set in ages as it was 50% off at Walmart, the box was opened and the stickers and one instruction book was missing, but overall worth it. It was set #76003 Superman: Battle of Smallville. It is hard to pass up a Lego set that is discounted so much! I also picked up one of the Series 10 Minifigs for $1 on clearance. It was the last one they had and I got a nice baseball player. I almost forgot the satisfying feel of Lego as they snapped together.

Atlus just released a game that we also decided to pick up using some Amazon credit that we have, Shin Megami Tensei IV. I played a little bit of it and the second tutorial/lesson killed me. They said it would be hard and they were NOT kidding. Of course this got Aleks and myself a $30 eShop credit and we can't figure out what game to put that towards! If anyone has opinions I would love to hear them.

Earthbound. Just Earthbound.

We also had two lovely volunteer groups at our house this past week tearing things out and helping to remove parts of the condemned house. It was hard to watch, and I didn't know there was still so much stuff left. The house no longer has floors and a lot of the insulation is gone. The good news is that it was built before they started using asbestos. If it had that removing the house would cost so much more. We have made progress with getting the permits for it (and for our house). The process is more complicated because the lots are technically too small for the houses by modern codes.

You can see all of the new images right here.

That is where the good news ends. Just when we started to get progress... our car broke down. The thermostat and its housing and cables pretty much exploded. This delay has cost us more money (that we don't have) and more time. The irony here is that we had just purchased an air conditioner for Aleks' grandfather and we were taking it home. To get ourselves and the air conditioner the three miles back home it cost us about $40. Not to mention the cost of fixing the car. Here is a picture of our car on the flatbed!

The past month

Posted by Kohaku , in BZPower, Lego, Rant, Real Life, Video Games May 05 2013 · 44 views
life
The past month has been very busy for me. I've been exhausted most of the time and have only been home in the evenings. That said there are some (very short) highlights.

I've been playing a lot of Lego City: Undercover for the Wii U... I wonder just how good that game is?

The Rayman challenges app on the Wii U is a lot of fun too.

I got to hang out in NYC with my boyfriend and an awesome friend yesterday. My legs hurt from all the walking.

Iron Man 3 is awesome go watch it.

As for life things... still nothing new on the house front and we can't fix things until the insurance company gives us money. And we can't accept the small offers they have given us as you can't fix a house with the numbers they are offering and ahhhhhh.

Free Comic book day brought us free comics.

The project Aleks and I are working on now has a mascot character and I am so excited for it.

Jedi Master J is an awesome friend and one of the coolest people ever.

Also it is my Birthday and this month feels good. This month feels good to me.

Three of them.

You see a week ago, Gamestop had used copies without boxes for less than $2 each. I bought one.

I LIKE PAINNNNNNNN

Lego City, Wii U, THQ, G4 and 1 more...
Today has been an eventful day in gaming. There was a lot of good and bad that happened today.

The Good

Yarn Yoshi, or Yoshi's Epic Yarn looks simply adorable.

Virtual Console will be getting GBA games! Also if you transfer games over from the Wii, upgrades will cost $1 to $1.50. The games will have more features such as off TV play.
Monolith Soft has a new game coming tentatively titled X.
Fire Emblem and Shin-Megami Tensei crossover game will be coming here too.
Wii U will get needed system updates in the Spring and Summer.

The Bad
Virtual Console games are getting a slight price increase.  For NES: $4.99 – $5.99 SNES: $7.99 – $8.99
THQ is officially no more with most of the studios and IPs having been sold off to various companies.
G4 which was once a gaming giant has aired the final episodes of XPlay and Attack of the Show today.

A lot was announced today by Nintendo as it was almost a mini E3, I'm personally looking forward to their E3 showing even more. I am very excited for what is coming on the Wii U this year.

Lego
What is this? A fair of bricks?

Unfortunately due to issues I sadly will not be attending this year.

But hey, there is always New York Comic-Con. That we will be attending as we paid for the four day passes before the issues took place.

A good Le-Matoran doesn't watch out for that tree.

The tree watches out for THEM.

Recent Lego Sets

Lego
So, recently I got the Lego January 2012 Catalog. I was overall not really impressed by the new selection, except for a few things.

Thus, I will now playfully mock the Lego sets from their pictures. I’ll start with the themes in the order that they appear. I will discuss the themes in general but I might point out specific sets. I'm not doing all of them, and I'm going to be fully detailed on all themes. These are just my first thoughts.

All of this is done in fun. :3

Lego Ninjago
So apparently the Lego ninjas are now battling the Goa’uld. I have no idea why, but the minifigs look kind of awesome. Although I must ask, why do evil snake people have a crane with a wrecking ball on it? How does this Fangpyre Goa’uld Wrecking Ball fit with ninjas? And snowmobiles? Last I saw ninjas did not have snowmobiles. And helicopters? Jet planes? Really? REALLY?

Also, Cole’s Tread Assault looks like the Ninja Batmobile...

Lego City
So, Lego City is now working with Smokey the Bear. They are fighting forest fires… but the forests only have one tree in each set. So… it is more like a tree fire? Also, the police built a Police Station in the forest, to catch all of the robbers. There seems to be an epidemic in Lego forest!

Lego Dino
So Johnny Thunder has returned… oh wait… not really. It seems like Jurassic Park… complete with trying to capture and control the dinosaurs. I wonder how many minifigs got eaten? Honestly, Dino Defense HQ should just be called Lego Jurassic Park.

Lego DC Super Heroes
I actually like these sets. They have some awesome pieces and minifigs. The sets themselves look pretty cool. My only complaints are that the buildable Batman, Green Lantern, and Joker look… really really bad.

Lego Friends
I want these. All of them. <3

Purple and pink all over. These sets are the best Lego has made in awhile. <3

Lego Hero Factory
I’m actually not a fan of these new ones, too many large pieces. And the high prices. I’ll pass.

Lego Star Wars
I do want that Super Star Destroyer…

Those are my thoughts on the Lego in the catalog.
