So, this is most likely the last MOC y'all will see from me for most likely 3 months. I'm starting up my school term on Thursday, and while I'm bringing some of my pieces with me, I doubt I'm going to be building a whole lot.
And on an unrelated note, I have heard back from all of the winners in my contest, so I'll be shipping out your prizes tomorrow.
So, I'm going to give a little mini-review of each MOC entered into my contest, talk about what I liked and did not like about them, and then talk about how I awarded them Bonus Points. Might as well start with first place after all (this is most likely going to be a tl;dr type entry, so if you want to skip to where I review your entry, feel free to do so):
Alchemyst's Robocop A-14
So, first things first, I do not like the lower legs at all. Usually I'm fond of this kind of leg, but there'

The Force Unbleached: Amalgam
So, I'll post a break down on scoring and such in a later entry. Anyways, congrats to the winners!
So, the entries to my contest are these:

Alchemyst

Protosteel
The Force Unbleached
Optimus Convoy
So, vote for the MOC that you think is the best. I'm still going to pick the winners and such, but if a MOC gets enough votes, I'll prolly rethink how I've decided them.
Voting starts today and ends tomorrow, so tell all of your friends! (W
I'm not much of a gamer, but I was boppin around in the mall yesterday and managed to pick up Valve's Orange Box on sale.
Half Life 2 and Portal are really cool (already beat the main campaign on Portal), Team Fortress 2's pretty neat, though I can't really say much more about it as I haven't played much of it, and I haven't played either of the Half Life episodes yet.
So, for old games they're all really sweet, so far.
And now, I'm going to go throw sawblades at headcrabs with the Grav
Current Bonus Point Ranking System
Obscurity: +1 B.P. (MOC was unexpected on my part OR is pretty unknown)
Originality: +1 B.P. (first to recreate a specific MOC OR first to take a specific MOC in a specific Direction)
Extra Difficulty: +3 B.P. (more advanced building techniques were used OR MOC was harder to recreate in a recognizable but different manner)
Unique Parts Usage: +2 B.P. (usage of uncommon parts in interesting ways)
Shaping and Technique: +4 B.P. (MOC achieves a sign
Yes, I know my blog contest names are waaaaay creative. At least I used some rudimentary French this time.
ANYWHO
The challenge is this:
You must build a MOC (duh). But not just any boring, ordinary MOC. You must build one of MY MOCs in YOUR style. And then you have to make it better.
Let that sit in a little. Good? Ok.
I'll clarify:
The challenge is that you have to rebuild one of my MOCs (it doesn't matter which one [well, it kinda does but I'll get to that later]) in your ow
Two days 'till my contest ends.
Three days 'till my work term ends.
Nine days 'till I ship off to college.
Fourteen days 'till my first class.
Also, it's a good song by Collective Soul. IMO.
Only 5 more days 'till the my contest's entry period ends, y'all.
Also, my last day of my work term is in 6 days. It's like there's a pattern here or something....
So, I should prolly build some more stuff, cuz I'm most likely not going to be around my parts too much from Oct-Dec, and where's the fun in not building?
I've got at least three things that I want to get done by the 28th.
And I definitely want to send something to BrickCon, probably going to be something really solid, though. Though, I'll be at my dorm when it gets shipped back, so I dunno.
But I really do want to send something.
So, Black Six totally highlighted my Midnight Dragon.
Also I'm POBZPC (I think that's the right acronym?) now, which is pretty solid.
I was definitely surprised when I saw the head of my dragon on the front page.
The person with the most Bonus Points (who isn't in first or second place) wins that little guy right up there^
Enter The Challenge (Nombre Deux) and you (yes, YOU) could win!
If you build one of these:
You will have the opportunity to get more than the regular 11 Bonus Points. This is just giving you the opportunity, this is not a guarantee that you will get more bonus points for using one of these as the MOC you are basing yours on.
Though, if you get more than the regular 11, you end up with a better shot of winning the (soon to be coveted) BONUS Prize.
Also, Bonus Points are flexible, so there's nothing that says that what your score is toda
If y'all are thinking about getting in on my contest and winning some awesome prizes, you only have 21 days to do so.
That being said, I'm going to put a little countdown in the upper left corner of my blog just because I can.
Also, I might give out a prize for third place, but as it is so far that's not going to happen. I'd need more entries and stuff to consider that.
So get building. Sheesh.
Yeah, I actually do keep my stuff together nowadays.
Also, I picked up the shelf at Goodwill for 7 bucks.
No really, I picked it up. I carried it out of the store, up my stairs and into my room (after I put it in my car and drove it to my house of course).
SOOO, dear blog readers (yes, YOU), if I were to hold a contest, with a real, physical prize (A Technic Fig !!11!!!!!1!) would you want to participate?
Cuz I think I have a pretty good contest idea.
Basically, just shout out if you're game for it and I'll put up the details in a later entry.
What's 64x32 (studs) and is forcing me to make a new photo setup?
My newest project, that's what is.
I've got it built, I just need to get it photographed
