Reminiscence and Nostalgia

Eight years ago today, I made the switch from the LEGO Message Boards to BZPower, going by the name Letagi Le-Koro Gukko Pilot. In short order I became Letagi Great Toa of Air, and then just Letagi. I was The Fruglymobile Captain for a while, a tip of the hat to one of Arpy's old MOCs that I liked, and since 2008 I've just been Letagi.   I still remember avidly reading Dark709's comics back in the first few years of my membership, and noticing that he had a four-year Norik spinny, and thinking h

Churyumov-Gerasimenko

Oh hello.   Humankind has just landed a probe on a comet after ten years of slingshotting around other planets. Please take a moment to acknowledge how awesome this is.   For those interested, Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko has a highly elliptical orbit with a period of 6.45 years, and is currently travelling at 135,000 km/h (84,000 mi/h). It will be coming to perihelion (closest approach to the Sun) exactly one year from today at a distance of 1.2432 astronomical units (AU, or the average dist

MNOGII Completed!

After more than a decade of being frustrated by this game, I've finally finished it.   A number of years ago I got past the championship but hadn't collected all the crystals and so was stuck in the last little bit. Sometime in the last year or two, I replayed the first half or so of the game, and just today beat Le-Koro and Po-Koro and finished the rest. Admittedly I did this by upping my Kohlii skills using the "Edit State" function, but I beat them legitimately years ago, so I can honestly sa

BrickCon 2014 and Bionicle 2015

BrickCon happened last week. Due to certain complications, I was unsure whether I would attend or not, and so didn't register until Thursday, which was technically the first day of the con but the day before the exciting stuff started happening. Having missed last year due to being at university in Edmonton and a $500 plane ticket away, and seeing as I will likely be in the same situation next year, I simply could not let myself miss out this year, despite the fact that I'm not feeling my best t

So I'm coming to BrickCon tomorrow.   When did I decide this? Today.   Better late than never, I suppose.   -Letagi

Not Dead Yet.

Hello everyone. So, contrary to popular belief, I'm still alive. Just thought I'd let you know.   Cheers.   -

Brickcon

So. BrickCon. Probably the best year so far. Let's see. Went down with George Costanza and his folks again - huge thank you once again to them for everything. Got to see the old crowd again plus some new people - Roa, Kakaru, kopakanui, xccj, Swert, EmperorWhenua, Toa Velox, and Binkmeister. Great to see everyone and looking forward to next year, and hopefully BrickFair as well. I should probably get on with uploading my pics. In the meantime, here's one of Binky's. Back row, left to righ

Rod Stewart/Ѕtevie Nicks

I has tickets. Friday night. It will be awesome. Decent seats, too. Unfortunately I'm on my own. In other news, my Science Fair partner and I have made it to the Canada-wide competition in Toronto in May. Looking forward to that as well. Also, Moanin' by Charles Mingus is an incredible tune. Look it up. -

NΜǪ&Α And Hot Topics

You know the forums are slow when the third hot topic has twelve posts in the last day and is in NMQ&A. Speaking of BZP, listening to Achilles' Last Stand by Led Zeppelin for an entire day is fun. -

Flu

Not fun. Started coughing last Thursday and spent the whole week recovering. Hence my absence from BZP, as I was lying on the couch a few feet behind me for six days. -

Stuff

I think that must be the most-used blog entry title on BZP. Or anywhere, for that matter. Anyways, the holidays have been rather nice so far. My dad and I finally got around to moving our record player into my room (since I'm the only one who ever listens to records) so now I have a full stereo system in my room. This, combined with having around two hundred records to choose from, makes for some awesome entertainment. It sounds rather wonderful. No Lego gets for Christmas, but I did recei

Updates And Snow

So it snowed a bit on Thursday night, then it stopped, then it snowed again last night, and then stopped. But it's supposed to go down to -6 tomorrow night, then -7 the following night, then -8 after that, then it starts climbing again. That's Celsius. But in any case, I think we'll have a rather snowy winter. Unlike last year. I find it ironic that it doesn't snow at all during the Olympics, but the year before and after we get tons of the stuff. In other news, I'll probably be participat

Hey Guise

So what's up? Not much? Didn't think so. So I just finished up the Fall drama production at my school, in which Razlak had a major part. The biggest part, actually. He did rather well. I wasn't actually in the cast, but rather in the band along with two of my very good friends and fellow musicians. 'Twas rather fun, and we all went out for pizza afterwards. Oh, and I got to wear a suit three nights in a row. There's also a chance I might be going to see Ozzy Osbourne next week. I thi

I think it was about time, considering the old one dated back to the days of Arkov. -

So It's 10:51 Pm...

...And I'm doing homework. Or rather I'm about to. And I will be doing homework for about the next two-ish hours, maybe less. During this time I will need to keep my sanity, or what's left of it at least, so any and all attempts to distract me will be much appreciated. Really. Basically I've got a bunch of science to do and I have to take some notes on Parliament. Homework shall now commence. -

Attn: Brickcon Attendees

I seem to have lost a small bag of BrickArms containing several purple and blue sci-fi weapons, a camouflaged sniper, and some sort of tan gun (can't remember exactly which, but it was a prototype). I also can't find my Series 2 surfer. I think I've PMed a few of you about this but if I haven't I would appreciate it if you could take a quick look through your stuff, as I think I put in someone else's bag by accident. Thanks. -

Metallic Purple Akaku

So I figure this needs its own separate entry. Basically, I ran into CzaR about five minutes after I arrived at BrickCon and promptly bought it from him for the BZP discount of $55. Now, this may seem a bit steep, but considering Flintsmith only made four of these (and who knows where the other three are) it's actually a great deal. So, thank you once again Matt! Here's a pic CzaR took of it next to his trans-purple Kaukau, also a Flintsmith custom, which he sold to Razlak at BCon09:

BrickⅭon 2010 In Review

Alright, let's get right to it.   First off, I didn't travel with my dad this time. Rather, Razlak and his mother were kind enough to take me down with them, so a huge thank-you to them.   Razlak's mom picked us up at school at shortly after three or Friday, from where we went straight to Seattle. We arrived over an hour late due to traffic coming out of Vancouver and coming into Seattle. Our ETA had been something like 6:00, but we got there right after the Friday Keynote session had ended.

Wow.

24 hours ago I was... What was I doing? Packing up my MOCs or something. Now I'm home sick. Timing couldn't have been better. I think it must have been Rene (EW), he was sitting next to me at dinner. Oh, man. BrickCon was so awesome. Especially the people. I don't think I even have to name you guys, you know who you are. I'll get a proper entry up later today or tomorrow, but for now I should really get back to building that UCS Imperial Shuttle. Oh, and congrats once again to Ja

So unless the hotel has interwebs access, or if somebody is kind enough to let me use their laptop, this will be my last entry until Monday. But I guess you already knew that. -

Come Together

It's such an amazing song. The Aerosmith version is on the radio right now. Of course, hearing the recorded version can never compare to hearing it live. Because yes, they actually played it at the concert. -

Van Morrison

I am quite addicted to his music. I've had Moondance stuck in my head for the past three days. Unfortunately he won't be back in Vancouver for a while since he was just here. -
