Got to bring my best friend with me to an early screening of Big Hero 6, my school hooked us up. It was really good, I was so impressed. Some really good storytelling there, and while the animation obviously wasn't Pixar, it was still pretty superb, they really put a lot of focus on bringing out every motion and those were some beautiful designs and textures for basically everything. I just cleared off my entire work desk, the only thing on it is my computer setup in one corner. Under my desk are several bins of Lego. I stared my mother in the eye as I said goodbye, and spilled a big bag of Technic pieces onto the glass tabletop. This is now the site of my Battle for the Gold Mask building project. I went to NYCC on Friday and I am exhausted. My shoulder is absolutely destroyed and bruised from carrying my heavy bag on it for 11 hours. But it was sooo worth it. I met the author of The Looking Glass Wars, one of my favorite book series, and he is just an adorable guy, he was thrilled when I told him that I read the books in middle school 'cause he loves that so many kids enjoyed his stories and got inspired.
