That sense of accomplishment

Yesterday I finally filled the last page of my sketchbook, which is actually more of a notepad that I carry around with me everywhere I go... but yeah, after six months it's been done. Not all is drawings, obviously, a few pages were sacrificed for science (so to speak), however, that thing's done now.   I used to fill them within 2-3 months' time, what happened. D:   It is a milestone for me though, because it means I'm finally overcoming a dark period of not drawing regularly at all*. I am pro

My life right now

Silly paint scribble from roughly ten minutes ago; resized so as to get rid of the squigglyness of the lines, although this was done with a graphics tablet... so yeah. The text is supposed to read "DRAMA~", BTW. ^^     Last week before summer break has always been the most annoying, stressful and evil thing there is. ><

1 presentation done, 1 still ahead of me

The second one's going to be more fun, for it's waaay shorter, and on a topic I can choose myself.   In my case, it's going to be about comics with a very short intro guide on how to make them yourself. I guess I might make the last part into a proper tutorial in case anyone's interested (it'd be short, though, since altogether I'll only be able to talk about it for roughly 4 minutes...)   Best part: Illustrations! =D Worst part: I probably will take too long, as I could go on and on about this

LEDs! :D

Well I told you that I'm learnig how to make gifs... anf obviously forgot that my hands were rather shaky while filming this. Oh well. As you can see I still decided to erase parts of the background, leading to this slightly surreal effect... but hey, the gif's under 500kB, so some shakiness is a price I am willing to pay. Also, I just hand-edited 45 frames because I don't know better, and I won't undo that. ><   So what we have here is a bridge rectifier with some LEDs to indicate the cur

It's one of *those* days...

there. scanned version's much better. :3 Focusing is hard, especially when my ballpoint pens are exceptionally sufficient (read: great!) for drawing.   You would not believe what nonsense I doodled today... from ballet-dancing octopi to a dude who has just been turned into a fairy... argh. It's too warm, I think my brain's boiling. ><

Oddly enough, dark is not always the best option

Recently I fiddled with my Ubuntu again, and realized that as much as I love the dark grey menus I had before, lighter ones actually make a far more 'friendly' impression. Same goes for my desktop background, which is now this. (screenshot from a game I love very dearly - the sceneries are so pretty!)   It's something I can't help but find annoying, for a part of me would love to make everything as dark as possible. Yet I love colours too, and being surrounded by light things actually does wonde

held my presentation

I guess it went sorta well, although I did talk a bit too fast once or twice... but oh well, to quote the scorpions:   I leave it all behind me now so many miles away.   (song: The Zoo)   So yeah, only a second, very short presentation left, then I'm done with that course, too.

Annoying is...

... for example, going by subway, happening to sit in front of some random stranger you find sort of attractive* and not having anything to doodle on with you, which means that you can only resort to either staring at them or intensively looking anywhere else but at them, both while feeling that you're visibly blushing.     ...thankfully I did find some scrap paper to occupy my hands.   incredibly tiny, frayed scrap of paper.** Oh well, better than nothing.     *or, like a week ago, someon

*headdesk*

I spent the past 4 days (including today) working on a presentation for that Scientific Publishing course... dang, that's more work than I thought it'd be. I mean, at least I have to deal with stuff I already kinda know (creating and editing images in Gimp and Inkscape)... but there's also some stuff I didn't know (that pstricks package... seems to be surprisingly powerful, but it's also a bit confusing)   I'd also never written a presentation in LaTeX before. That stuff looks wild. D: The resul

wait, this is odd

I just realized that thanks to my sis I am actually into a rather current series (Sherlock) and can actually discuss it with people (okay, on the internet, but hey, that's still a lot better than nothing). Wow. Quite unusual.   ~   Currently at the third doctor*, btw. I think he's actually my favourite so far, although I've liked all of them up until now. :3     *really the third one... Pertwee, I think?

Feeling rebellious

Who me? Not really, no. I am just not overly fond of fashion rules and/or restrictions. Basically it boils down to stuff like a former friend going all   "Oh you want cyberloxx? Then you'll have to wear a full cyber outfit though." or similarly whenever I talked about potential ideas or projects. I just don't get the whole thinking in boxes. If someone wants to completely stick to a style, that's fine with me. If someone mixes different influences, that's suddenly a bad thing?   IMO alte

New phone...

because my old one recently kicked the bucket. After 9 years, so I guess that's okay.   The new one's cool, though, with a camera and stuff... and it's black xD (not a smartphone, though, since I really don't like them :/) Already sewed a bag for it, so yeah, I guess I'm kinda happy. :3       (not about that test on monday, though. That's terrifying although I suppose that this time I actually even get what the theory's about...)

describing what's real with what's imaginary

Imaginary (also complex) numbers will never cease to amaze me; they're non-existant, yet come in handy when describing oscillating stuff and other real things. ^^   Apart from that, you don't happyn* to know any math puns, do you? 8D       *should have been 'happen' but I love the typo. xD Also I'm totally bad at writing about stuff like this

[Scribbles] tablet testing

... so recently I got a tablet pc* for my 20th birthday (I was really left speechless by that. D: ), but so far I sadly haven't done much but some testing... the first scribble was just some random dude with long hair, lots of buckles on the outfit and a distinctive lack of a nose (or any other facial features but eyes xD) because it was done in MS Paint and it took ages to make what I already had look at least somewhat decent.   Link Today involved some further testing including the pre

Quantum mechanics and Dirac notation

They make my head hurt. A lot. And I have no idea why it's something I find that annoying and hard and exhausting to understand, the mathematical stuff shouldn't be that awful... I think. :/   So if anyone knows of an intuitive approach, I'd be more than happy to hear about it. ><

Easter break

Finally some time for myself again, and two weeks with a bit less work. 10 days completely without it, and then 4 with studying for a probably awful test.   Still, I am glad that I don't have to spend all my day at university for a while. (I am not exaggerating... much. I do have an awful lack of free time during uni, though)

*sadface*

Every time one of my programs for Scientific Computing doesn't work. I am now relying on the bonus thingies in order to make up for that, but it's annoying.

Omgomg D:

Switching operating systems always makes me nervous. So very, very nervous. Even if a complete backup exists.

... dang it

Yesterday. Worst. Day. Ever.   That one test was horrible, there's hardly anyone who passed it. I also didn't get much sleep, and above everything couldn't access BZPower. And now I read up on the April Fool's thingie and it sounds like it must have been glorious.   Does anyone have screenshots of the spinnies? It's not the same, but it would be better than nothing...

Apparently, I am bad at predicting the future*

Especially regarding exams at university. When I am convinced I fail, I actually do -just- pass them. When I feel that I actually did better this time, I still -just- pass them. :/   Yeah, passed is passed and stuff, but it's annoying, particularly if I had believed that I'd understood most of it. Then again, math is evil. In a fascinating, diabolical way. :3     *So no part-time job as a fortune teller for me. Awww.

too much!

So this morning I realized only way too late that my mp3-player's battery was low. As in, no music for me. Guess what happened. C:     ^ First scribble of the day, while going by underground, trying to ignore people. I am seriously bad at that, shutting out noises, they're quite distracting. Also sorry 'bout the inappropriate use of memes (kinda), it was in the morning, I was still half asleep.     ^ And that was on the way back home. Which was worse because there were even more people.
