Unless my professor was sarcastic and I didn't catch on that. (no I never believe in good results. Ever. :/) Next week I should know for sure. Though I suppose I did know most of the stuff he asked? Well. I never remember much from oral exams except for incoherent rambling that probably contained enough truth. If anyone needs me, I'll be watching MoL with my sis now. Takuuuuaaaaaaa! :3
especially when you need some quick reference for how a cylinder with a hole behaves in perspective. Yay for blender, that really helps with the protocol xD Apart from that I'm definitely going to render some more stuff that is actually going into the protocol later. After all it's a lot of work, so I might as well do it in a way that I can enjoy it.
bureaucracy galore. Can't say I'm a fan. On the contrary - it stresses me out way too much, that's definitely something I need to work on. At least my finger is almost okay again (dunno if I mentioned that, I overstrained it when studying for that final exam. Because the only way I remember stuff is by writing it down... ;n; ) - and I am pretty much done with my sketchbook. Before half of the year is over. Achievement! Now I just need to scan some of it as well ^^'
An attempted deviation from my normal art style. I suppose it's only a small step, though. :/ Any suggestions would be great and helpful and appreciated. :3 (click thumbnail to view full drawing)
Nothing's more awesome than realizing that you are in no way equipped with what you would need for solving a problem, and realizing that after you've tried it with everything you knew and then gave up and looked online whether you'd find something. But seriously, I spent several hours on this. :C But at least I did find a solution, and I do understand it.
...I was still working on the backstory of my BZP namesake, and the chibi style slowly became a bit more refined and similar to what it looks like today. (thumbnailed because gigantic image ^^") ...I decided that manga wasn't working for me (apart from the chibi style, but that's a different story), so I decided to move towards a semi-realistic drawing style again. 2010 was also a year of trying out many things, like colourful swirls; of course, most drawing was done during classes
I'm currently feeling a bit in-between things... not asleep, I'm sure about that, but somehow it all doesn't seem as real to me as it did yesterday... maybe it was the 3-hour Italian test today, followed by two hours of additional physics class, I don't know. It can't have been the coffee, right? xD I don't know, it's as though there were too much creative energy, but without any focus. You know, as in something that could be drawn or written down, like that poem yesterday. *sigh*
Just thought I'd put this up mainly to give you an idea of how many guidelines I am curently using (or not); which also explains why many of the characters I draw look kinda wonky, but hey. Anyway, as you can see the areas I'm more confident about (as in, face and torso) have less lines than the hand, and as I just saw it's actually a bit small ( D: not again) - should you do this, and see that something's wrong but can't place why, it's usually recommended to re-add guidelines and try to fig
nothing much has happened, apart from me starting my PhD studies So technically a lot has happened since the last update, but at the same time I am underwhelmed. Also because a lot of puzzle pieces are still missing. Like my work contract :3 buut I've got my insurance and I'll also get paid, so.... it's okay, I guess. In the meantime I'll read up on stuff and start looking into the programming parts. Can't say I'm unhappy.
If you ever see me posting a semi-related scientific excourse-thingie, there is a 85%-chance that I should actually finish some work for university. Or I am actually glad that for once I know the answer to a question nobody ever really asked. :> Related reading: "I know a solution for that and I have to show you NOW" -an older blog entry outlining the second possibility. ^^
My feet hurt... but yay, first christmas present found. ^^ Hee hee B) I'm feeling rather relieved, that this year everything should be much better than in the previous ones.
How to Solve It by G. Polya And honestly guys, that book is awesome. It demonstrates the approach of mathematical problems quite well. Which is something I really need to improve on, because at school we never really learned how to solve problems on our own, and now at university it's suddenly some kind of requirement. But you know what's funny? Other than fiction, books like this can't just be read all the way through in one go, even if they're well-written. So much thinking needed... yay.
In other words: I changed my banner again. This time featuring a panel from a comic I did back in 2010 for my school's students' magazine. Yep. An oldie, but a goodie. ^^ Aaand dear Johnny is in my avatar. For now.
