Tiring day. Two essay tests, one of which I had to go back and finish during break, which meant that, because of a class meeting for Spirit Week after lunch, I had virtually no free time until 9th period. Then after that came Driver's Ed, followed all-too-soon by a very long (temporally) amount of notes for Euro, Bio, and then reading/notes for English.

Today's subject of discussion is the yellow Jetrax. I have gripes about it. First off, I love that there's more yellow. That in and of itself is awesome, but I don't really like the distribution it's in – it looks sort of garish to me, too bright. Take all the canister series we've had since yellow-orange replaced brown. Inika, Barraki, Mahri, Phantoka, Mistika, Glatoriana, Glatorian Legends. There is only one color of the six that I have bought out of every series: yellow (or whatever it was at the time).

As I announced yesterday, I got my wisdom teeth extracted today. All four of them. It hurts.
They gave me this type of anesthesia that left me conscious throughout the whole thing, but with no memory at all – something I'm actually quite thrilled with. So titled because that's what the weather's been like at various points today. We've been having one of those annoying April snowstorms. And it was spring just yesterday, too. Hopefully it will be warm and green again next week...
Because then I have Spring Break! At last! Goals include finishing the current chapter of QfLD (unlikely, but if I really try I might make progress!), working on drawings I have going, finishing a short story, and perhaps entering BBC 42.

Finally! I had hoped to make all of these new images about a month ago, but then I kept having a ton of other things to do, and I only got to them yesterday. They aren't very tree-ish, but they'll do. I was going to include some of the frozen trees from Ko-Koro somewhere, but in the end they never looked quite as good as the rest, since the nearly pure white behind them wasn't as dramatic as the blues from other things...

This is amazing: for once I have very little to do.
My history presentation went well, I have no homework in English or Biology, and I did Latin during 9th period, leaving me with only some History, French, and Algebra left to do. Latin itself was also incredibly easy: I just looked at it and understood it aside from a couple words. Whee! (Even if it was synthetic rather than authentic Latin.)

CALCULUS IS OVER. Not until next September do I have to do large quanities of math again. Whoo!
The exam itself wasn't so bad, but there were some annoying free response questions about limits that I had no idea how to do. The with-calculator multiple-choice was really easy, and everything else pretty much the same level of difficulty as we had been reviewing... And since we had been reviewing for a whole month anyway, that wasn't really hard.

But there's so much about October that I just love. The weather is nice and cool, fall is properly beginning, the trees are magnificent colors... And night is appropriately haunting with the leaves half-fallen and a full moon. It's like the whole month is leading up to Halloween, the feeling one gets exploring at night fits all the mystique of it

This week was (and still is) Spirit Week for my high school. As usual, each day of the week there's a theme, but each class also has their own theme. Not only does my class work terribly together, but we're also the smallest class in the school. The Juniors have almost twice as many people as us. We were expecting our class skit (based on the theme) to be terrible, and rather certain that we'd come in fourth place as we've been most of the week.

Everything around here is frozen. It's not freezing rain, it's... frozen rain. It was pretty warm yesterday, about 40º, then there was a downpour last night, which froze during the day today. So now there's just this layer of ice over everything.
And it's really fun. I went out a while ago just to explore my yard, and I had to work hard to keep my balance walking in some of the gently-sloping places, because the grass is frozen into a thin sheet and all the sticks are covered in ice... There'
So, over the next week, I'm going to be visiting colleges again. At the end, hopefully it will be easier to decide where I'm going next year.
Tomorrow and Sunday I'm going to Vassar and its glorious library, then Sunday evening and Monday I'll be at Brown.
