Apples To Apples

I like that game, and it's not just because I won the first time I played it either (though I'm sure that didn't hurt). That game is just fun, plain and simple. Of course, it's mostly about reading other people and figuring what they'll guess, but at the same time giving an answer you might pick. Basically, it's a game that involves thinking, but it can still be wacky.   Oh, it's definitely a game that needs several people.   ©1984-2009 Toaraga EAM

Free B Z Power Brick

Remember these? In case you didn't know or forgot, those were some specially-engraved LEGO bricks that Binkmeister had and sold back in 2007.   Well, I was able to purchase two spare ones back then, and that is what I will be giving away tomorrow. (Believe it or not, those were purchased to give away in some way at some point, but have since been setting and waiting for such a time as this.) Remember you must identify yourself as a BZPower member.   I shall attempt to be at NorthPark Center

Free Giveaway

As I mentioned the other day, I am giving away something to the first two people who find me and identify themselves as BZPower members this Thursday at the LEGO Store soft opening. In case you don't know/forgot, it's at NorthPark Center in Dallas, TX. I might not have the opportunity at the Grand Opening Celebration, since I'll probably be helping out most/all the time I'm there. I am going to try to be there when it opens, but I can't plan one way or the other until tomorrow afternoon, thou

4-wheel Dancing

Driving is like dancing in/with your car. Seriously. Go ahead, spend some enough time in medium-to-heavy traffic, and watch as the cars change lanes. It's almost like choreography as cars move to fit into new lanes, provided traffic is actually moving. Unfortunately, no one knows who's leading, but everyone else is following.   ©1984-2009 Toaraga EAM

Guess What I'm Working On

I'm working on this for the LEGO Store that's opening at NorthPark on Thursday. I didn't start the work on it, but I'm going to finish it. (Yes, I know it's sideways, but it has already-constructed parts inside.)   Also, I have a surprise for the first couple of people who show up and identify themselves as BZP members. I'm going to try to be there when it opens, but I can't guarantee I'll be there right when it does, and I know I won't be there all day, due to a prior commitment. I'll try t

Fun, Long Weekend

I had a fun time to and from Louisiana, and KIE's wedding was great. Too bad I missed a chance to meet another BZPower member, but it was nice to finally meet someone in person.   ©1984-2009 Toaraga EAM

Storm Beats Phone, Etc.

We had a pretty nasty storm Wednesday night and yesterday. I think it must have knocked out or done something at the phone company because our land line (and by default Internet connection) have been flaky since then. Supposedly everything's been fixed, but our connection hasn't been stable today even after we were told it was.   In other news, I'm leaving the state of Texas tomorrow... but I'll be back. I'm going to Louisiana for a big event (yay road trip), and I'll just leave you guessing

My Two Year Plan

I get to be the best man at my best friend's wedding in about two years.   And tomorrow he begins basic training in the army.   ©1984-2009 Toaraga EAM

Not Feeling Jovial

A good friend of mine passed away Tuesday night. While I only knew him for a little over a year, I really got to know him during that time, and we were even working on some video projects together the past couple weeks. If he was nothing else, he was a hard worker; considering his physical limitations, he was the hardest working person I knew.   I couldn't even bring myself to buy one of the new sets we had in stock and plan to review it once I got the news yesterday, and other things I had p

Ball's In Whose Court?

Honestly, I don't know what sport the people who use this phrase play/watch, but I'm pretty sure the ball stays in one court throughout a single game. They have some serve/pass if they're getting the ball all the way to another court... or they're aim is way off. I don't think I've ever actually used this phrase; at least, I don't recall doing that.  You lost the metaphor.   ©1984-2009 Toaraga EAM

Certification Achieved

As promised, I shall reveal a couple things I had in store. For two of my college courses, I was required to attempt a Microsoft Certification Exam. (To those who were wondering-- you know who you are-- this is the test I was talking about.) Well, here are the results:  (Personal info removed)   I am now certified in Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 and Microsoft Access 2007.   I guess that means I can now fall into the "over qualified" status for certain job searches.   And I must say I r

This Day In History

2008: Toaraga becomes Global Moderator.   I can't believe it's been a year already; so much time has passed.   If only I had something to celebrate the occasion... besides finals and finals prep. Then again, that's a terrible way to celebrate: by having tests.   ©1984-2009 Toaraga EAM
