Yesterday -- for the first time, I drove behind the wheel of a car.
It was my first behind-the-wheel driving lesson. The instructor showed surprise when she heard that I hadn't at least practiced with my parents before the lesson. I'd been putting that off, as I had never been getting a decent chance after school days to fit in some driving. I have to get my naps in, you know? Well, after my friend and I exchanged positions from the back seat to the driver's next t

This past year, I've developed a habit most unusual for me: napping. I would have never seen it coming, but since my school lengthened the school day by 22 minutes this year, I've found it necessary to recharge my batteries upon entering the safe haven of my home once again. It got really bad this past week, because I slept for hours every day. I don't think I once ate dinner with the rest of my family those past five days. Just yesterday, Friday, I fell asleep around 7

Hello again, BZPower. I haven't posted an entry in a very long time or posted in the forums much lately. I've been busy with schoolwork. I've completed a research paper, given a major speech, started driver's ed, and been swamped with plenty of other work in between. But don't worry about me; it happens to everyone. Usually this situation pops around the end of third quarter. I've also had some difficulty with the computer lately, which has seriously not been fun AT ALL.

Last month, as usual, I got my Brickmaster magazine really, really late, like on the 28th or so. Not only did the magazine come late, but it came without any plastic covering over it, both the front and back covers had been torn off, and the spine of the whole thing had been badly beaten up. I called LEGO customer service, and they readily shipped out another magazine to replace the mutilated one. I finally got that one about a week-and-a-half later, and even then, the

It's a sad day in Chicago today. Especially with it being the first day of the school week . And it's so cold it's hard to breathe.
Turaga of Mata Nui
Shortly after the Great Cataclysm, the six Toa Metru – Vakama, Onewa, Matau, Nokama, Whenua, and Nuju – were charged with transporting the comatose Matoran of Metru Nui to a new home: the island of Mata Nui. After an incredible struggle against the Visorak hordes in Metru Nui, the Toa Metru were able to bring the Matoran to the surface of Mata Nui in six airships. With their destiny as Toa fulfilled, the only task that lay before the Toa Metru was awakening the Matoran,

Just recently I -- with assistance from my dad -- was able to set up a couple of back-to-back shelving units to display my Bionicle collection.
And I still couldn't get to display the playsets -- just no room .

It all happens so fast in the new Bionicle short movie that I never noticed this until I watched it the tenth time or so.
Kalmah has the mask and fires a squid at Ehlek, Ehlek fires it back, Pridak comes up from behind and -- wouldn't you know, he slices right through Kalmah's tentacle with his blade, making it spill blood into the water. (Although, please, I ask you not to resurrect the blood on Pridak's face argument, as I sorely recall that debate.)

Lacking in something in my current life to write about today -- except for the fact that the Bears are going to the Super Bowl -- I present you my third Bionicle Legends mini-review, on City of the Lost.
Like any book that has a decent sense of order to it, this book starts the 2007 story from the beginning: the defeat of the Barraki 80,000 years ago. My only complaint is that this wonderful scene was a tad brief, but I suppose it was better to resolve backstory qu

Here goes another iPod rant:
Take a look at this video on CNN.
I love Japan. So practical. They don't limit imagination and applicability of technology over there.

Today was my second day of exams. Sorta.
We have an entrely different schedule from normal for exams days. Exams are split up into three days with three exam periods each -- that means I have only three (longer) classes in a day rather than the normal nine periods. For example, I had periods 1, 3, and 4 yesterday -- three of my hardest classes. Of course, if someone has a free period, lunch period, or class that doesn't have an exam, he or she doesn't have to att

Hey guys. Here I am, at 11:25 PM on the night before my semester exams start, posting a blog entry for the first time in several days. Sorry I haven't posted an entry in a while, it's just been one of those weekends where I'm not paying too much attention to my blog.
Just a summary of what's been happening in my life lately, both on- and offline: Semester Exams. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I have three of my most rugged tests tomorrow. I've studied a bunch, bu

This is one of the (best) episodes of the Brickfilms.com podcast . I definitely have this on my iPod.
Here's the RealPlayer file: link.
As also displayed in one of the content blocks on the right side of this blog, here is a list I have compiled of photo galleries of LEGO BIONICLE Building Challenge winning-MOCs over the past few years. If you see one of your creations listed here and want your BZPower username listed alongside the link, feel free to let me know. If there are any errors with credit given for something you created, let me know that as well.

Look back at yesterday's entry, which was about my brother's school getting canceled. Well, we have a plot twist, friends.
I was in one of my high school classes yesterday when another student said to me, "Someone broke into your school."
"What?" I said, at first a little taken by surprise, since my old grade school doesn't come up in conversation much anymore, especially with students who didn't go there with me.
Sure enough, he told me that someone had br

Today was my first day back to school . Felt like a monday . Gotta hate those.
So I have to get up at 6:40. I come downstairs after washing my face, getting dressed, etc. I'm eating a bagel when we get a phone call. My dad picks up.
"Hello?"
...
"This is he."
...
"Oh...really?"
...
"Alright then... would you happen to know what the reason is for this?"
...
"So, you're not really sure, you're just happy to pass along the news ."

That's right, we got locked out of our house yesterday. My parents just walked right out the door without checking for keys. That's the price you pay for wanting to spend time at the park, I guess .
How did we get back in? Well, our neighbor still had a key to our house from the time she looked over our cat while we were gone over Thanksgiving. Yeah, I have some thanksgiving for that right now . Actually, there was one problem -- she was at work and we weren't e

First of all, allow me to say happy new year! I sure am looking forward to 2007!
Secondly, sorry about the fact that I haven't posted since... the other day... I forget which one exactly. It was about iPods.
Guess what -- this entry's about iPods too!
Looking back on Christmas shopping at Office Max... I cannot tell you how many items had a totally unneccessary iPod station built into them. I mean desk lamps, televisions... dishwashers . Serously though, i
