The point  of subscribing  to Brickmaster  was that I wouldn't  have to call them  in order to get the next issue every two months. But when it's the 31st of the month, and my magazine, as has happened WAY too many times before, has not shown up -- and this time, my Lego set hasn't even arrived in the mail either -- what choice do I have?
I'm trying to vent my frust

I just came back from K-Mart. Sure enough, the Mistika canister sets were selling for a reduced price, although they sold for $10.99, not $9.99. But I still saved. Add six Mistika to my collection...

A week before last Tuesday, a new Battle for Power game for Tanma was put onto the Bionicle website. The player needs to reach the end of a long tunnel, moving forward only by pressing the up-arrow key for upward thrust while drifting forward. The player picks up powerups for speeding up and for refueling. Pressing the space bar causes Tanma to release a powerful light blast that destroys any Makuta in your way.

Happy Spring!
Yesterday, Chapter 5 of The Mutran Chronicles was posted on www.bioniclestory.com.
In this chapter, the legend of Tren Krom is starting to unfold. Although Tren Krom, Mutran explains, is considered by most to be imaginary, those who know better know that he does in fact exist. He is one to be dreaded, being older than Mata Nui and having come into existence before the stars of the Matoran universe. His very presence could drive other

Dark Mirror Chapter 5 was posted on www.bioniclestory.com today.
This episode was long, most likely thanks to how easily prolongued the interactions in this chapter could be. Makuta Krika has infected Takanuva with a powdery Makuta virus that allows him to fly at least temporarily. Flying over the protodermis seas in the direction pointed out by Krika, Takanuva comes upon Matoran Jala, Puku pulling an Ussal cart, Toa Bomonga, and Toa Kualus. The two Toa are riding M

Federation of Fear 5 was posted on www.bioniclestory.com today.
This update is full of energy. Sailing south from Zakaz, Brutaka and Lariska now head the Steltian ship south in order to pick up a hidden weapons cache needed to arm the team at last. The original location for the pickup, scouted out by the Order of Mata Nui, used to be a small, wooded island off the southern continent. When Botar and the nine-foot warrior from the ninth chapter of the Gali Nuva Blog,

Everyone online is raving about the recent major revelation: the true name of the original Makuta character, the one and only villain we have seen our heroes battle since Bionicle 2001. It was in 2004 when we first learned that Makuta was not the only one of his kind. We discovered that he was part of an entire Brotherhood of Makuta. Last year, 2007, when it at last became more pressing to distinguish our Makuta from others in the historical storyline, we started calli

I recently ran across the Greek word antron, which means "cave." A quick Wikipedia search revealed that Antrozoidae is one family for bats. Total coincidence or not (probably not), "Antroz" is just one more of dozens of names this year that have real-world roots.
Radiak -- radiant (light is classified as radiant energy)
Photok -- photo (Greek root for "light")
Kirop -- chiroptera (order in which bats are classified, literally means "winged hand")
Tanma -- tan (lik

Two days ago, Chapter Four of Dark Mirror became available for download from www.bioniclestory.com.
Toa Tuyet leads Takanuva, Takua, and Dume far into forgotten parts of the archives. When they arrive at a chamber where two darkly-armored beings wait, it is the Makuta of Metru Nui who shapeshifts from Tuyet's appearance to his own, that of a large titan wearing an infected Hau. The Makuta are fugitives, they explain to Takanuva. Makuta's Kraahkan is warded; Tuyet

Chapter Four of Federation of Fear was posted, briefly taken down, and then re-posted on www.bioniclestory.com today.
Spiriah has been in command of Brutaka's ship for three days, not giving his captive crewmates an inch for resistance. Just off the shore of Zakaz, Spiriah's small armada of Zyglak ships attacks the Dark Hunter patrol boats. Those that are not sunk immediately beach on Zakaz -- their crews are promptly killed by the hateful Skakdi. Spiriah's Zygla

Entry 3 of the Mutran Chronicles was finally posted on www.bioniclestory.com today.
At the beginning of this chapter, Miserix's most trusted lieutenant, the Makuta of Metru Nui, has made his glorious triumph over the Barraki rebellion. However, Mutran and the female Makuta Gorast are sent to the northwest of the Barraki kingdom to clean away Kalmah's fortress. Gorast, although female, is known as a fierce warrior with a mind set on carnage, with a "spiky" pers

Today we got the first good look at Bionicle summer 2008 sets. The BZPower frontpage article of the day displays an abundance of photos from their visit to Toy Fair 2008.
Sadly, it seems that all the Mistika canister sets will be sold for $12.99 USD. Greg Farshtey's response to one BZPower member's inquiry about this was that a number of factors have contributed to the high price: the price of oil and therefore plastic has spiked, the price of steel to make new p

Two new Battle for Power games -- for Kopaka Nuva and Antroz -- were put up on bionicle.com yesterday. The former, Kopaka Nuva, has already been playable on Nickelodeon's bioniclebattle.com, but I have greatly enjoyed its challenging gameplay. One small difference in the new version on the Bionicle website is that is has now been resized from its original dimensions on BionicleBattle to an unpleasantly pixelated smaller size. The enemies are also slower, a disadvan

The new Brickmaster Jan-Feb 2008 set has arrived in the mail. The Brickmaster subscription has always provided a bimonthly Lego set shipped in addition to its magazine. This year, it seems, Lego is sending out Lego sets that are entirely exclusive to the Brickmaster program. Indeed, the bag of this set (number 20001 -- promotional sets tend to have five-digit numbers instead of the usual four) lends no name to the set itself and has no other umbrella title on the pa

I'm thinking I need more actual Bionicle news in this blog for archive. You know, instead of nonsense.
Biocast: Dark Mirror 3 is on the web today at www.bioniclestory.com.
In this chapter, Takanuva has escaped his prison with his old Takua self, having thrashed some Vahki guards on the way out. He heads down into the Archives looking for the Rahi Krahka. What he finds in the Archives instead of artifacts and static Rahi are trophies of Toa conquests, the most s

I'm sad that since 2006 Lego stopped releasing promo images of canister sets that have backgrounds. The best images we usually get are the white-out ones from Shop@Home. But I recently found some very nice Piraka images that I never knew existed. They sort of have backgrounds.

The Lehvak were the swamp Bohrok, one of the six breeds of Bohrok swarm. Their head-plates housed red Krana, which were telepathically directed by the Bahrag.
History
The Great Beings created the Bohrok machines 100,000 years ago, placing them under the guidance of the Bahrag queens. The Bohrok's purpose was to scour clean the outer surface of the earthen dome housing Metru Nui and its silver sea, which protruded out of the ocean of water on the planet surface like a large island, should
