(Click For Link) Yay, another Lego Friends Review. I actually got this set and took pictures of it in January, but then I heard DeeVee was gonna write a review so I put it off so he could get his say in first. (Also, because I didn't want to point out the exact same things. Now I know that a few of my observations are somewhat original as far as BZP reviews go.) Last month, I got around to finally writing this review, and now I've posted it. Yayz. As for why BZPers should love the new F
Well, with the release of the new Toa Ignika game, there's also new bonus content when you get so many points and such. I actually like this game, and did rather well, and got the max bonus content, and had a look at it. Now I just must make a blog about it.
Bonus Content: Prototype Masks
I'll move from top to bottom, left to right.
First Tow Row: Obviously a plastic prototype of Lewa's mask. Only it doesn't look like Lewa's mask. I'm pretty sure the reason this one didn't make it th
I've been trying to work out a deal for some custom printed minifigure torsos for another project, and then I got thinking about how cool it would be to have printed torsos for the Toa, and then perhaps even printed heads too! Custom Lego fig prints are more common nowadays, so in theory it wouldn't be too difficult to pull it off. But it would still be pricey... but one way to bring down the price is to order in bulk. And it occurred to me that there might be other fans out there also intereste
Oh look, I'm talking about lenticular cheese slope mosaics again. These mosaics are hard to design, hard to make, and also quite hard on the pocket book. That's because filling up a huge baseplate with cheese slopes really adds up, and when each one costs ten cents but you need thousands... yeah, not cheap. But what if you only had to fill out a smaller section, like say a 16x16 plate? Would anybody be interested in a collaborative lenticular mosaic design? People would only have to make sma
Which movie should I see this weekend. Coraline or Pink Panther II? The first looks to have pretty good graphics, but Steve Martin is sure to deliver in the comedy section. And, hopefully, I can catch a matinee, because I don't know if I have enough cash for one, much less both.
So I visited the LEGO Store today and made some purchases, in which I got a Martian Manhunter fig. The fig itself isn't that interesting to me (I'm not that big a fan of MM) but I figure there'll be others out there clamoring for him, so I could trade him for another rare figure that I would want. But the highlight of my purchase was the 21103 Cuusoo Back to the Future Delorean. I finally committed on my purchase after I voted for that model... what, two-three years ago? I've been keeping a
Just a quick question. I know that most people have to rely on TRU, but what about other places. I rely exclusively on Fred Meyers, but they're more of a local chain store, so you won't find them outside the Pacific Northwest. What are other places where you've been able to pick up the mystery bags? Thanks in advance for answering!
I get soaked.
I think I just witnessed the first big rainstorm of the season. There was thunder and lightning, and in the Multi-Purpose Room (Theatre) the echos made the thunder LOUD! (Try rehursing for a play over the sound of thunder... and we did Dracula last year). And when I rushed out to find my mom's car, the rain was coming down HARD! As in I was soaked after five minutes of searching... turned out my mom was a little late.
So, the rain has died down, but I'm still soaked as
You know what, that phrase is so cool that it can even withstand the beating of overuse.
Anyway, I was listening to a podcast about Pluto (the planet) and specifically why people hated seeing it go. The answer the guy gave was that it shared the name with the dog Disney came up with. (And really, who doesn't luv Pluto the dog?) Lots of people were "upset" when it was demoted from planet status into dwarf planet. I'm kinda on the neutral line. I think they should've kept Pluto on the list
This came through the library to be labeled and put on the shelves...
"The Magna Guide to Statistics"
"This Cartoon guide will have you on your way to statistical literacy in no time!"
There are like seriously Japanese comics in this book. Apparently there's the typical magna storyline in there, where all the problems are solved with... eh, statistics? There are some charts and stuff to go along with the panels, and at the end of the chapters there are summaries of the math, apparentl
Here's what I care about in college... in this exact order.
When do I have to get to my next class?
When can I sleep (or can't sleep)?
When and where can I eat?
When can I check out my e-mail (and BZP)?
When is my homework due?
When am I going to crack? (I got really close to this last week when I fell ill)
Another noteworthy thing: although people have been nagging me to use one for the past five years, I have still not made much use of my day planner. I don't write down many assig
I've probably brought this up before, but I'll bring it up again.
Okay, so one of my stories introduced powered talisman partway through, based on powers seen in Bionicle, as well as that old Jackie Chan Adventures cartoon. Some of the powers are classics, like speed and strength. Some are a little more unique (or Bioniclisque) like ghosting or visions. But there's this one power that I can't quite name properly.
I originally called it gravity. The main idea was it would let you lift t
I'm an uncool dude. I'm such an uncool dude that I'm tempted to bypass the word filter and just right it out just for emphasis. I am an ih... ah, whatever, I'm just plain stupid.
Alright, here's the story. I'm a starving college student, but my parents were kind enough to provide me a debit card to buy extra supplies. Not enough to buy a ton of LEGO Bricks (if I could even find them. I'm in the middle of a city, but the closest retail store is an hour's bus ride away, I swear). But it's
The new Detective's Office model that's been seen around lately looks rather nice, and now I'm tempted to maybe get one. And if I do, perhaps I should also look like some of the older ones, so I can get a few of them before they disappear from production. This idea is terrible financially, since these things aren't exactly cheap. But it seems like a good idea when I'm putting up displays around my apartment and going "Gee, I don't have that many structures to put my minifigs next to." And of
This is going to be a really horrible year for me Lego wise. There are so many cool sets that I want... but I spent far too much money on bricks this year, so I'll really have to keep myself from spending a bunch after the new year. Regardless, here is a list of the sets of 2011 that I currently want to add to my collection.
1 or 2 Hero Factory Heroes: Don't know which ones yet, probably Evo tho. ($7 apiece) 1 or 2 Ninjago Ninja card packs, depending on price. (Give or take $10)
Ninjago S
Here are a few things that bug me in BBC contests concerning Entry Pictures.
Size: I hate it when somebody takes a picture and leaves it at its maximum size. There are programs that allow you to crop and resize, people! I really dislike waiting ages for a pict to load, and then being unable to see the whole MOC because the sceen can't fit the whole picture.
Quality: I don't like fuzzy pictures. I take plenty of fuzzy pictures, but I deleat them. The magic with digital cameras is you c
First off, new chapter added to the story Makuta Vs Zarxec. It is a short offshoot epic from SoMN, which already has two chapters posted, but only Wrink replied to it, so I'm assuming it sucks horrible and people hate it.
Next, I'm starting a new story, A Change in the Plan. Inspired by the last comic, where I went "they had so much potential left... I think I'll take a crack at it." I wrote a more detailed description in the review topic... go there and leave a review.
Also, I have a
I'm seeing some people writing about accomplishments and such they've made this past year. I considered it, but since I'm an eternal pessimist, I'm going to look at what I didn't accomplish this year, albeit with a slightly positive outlook. I didn't die. I didn't lose my job. I didn't get booted off BZP. I didn't go broke or get kicked out of my apartment. (Those two kinda go hand in hand) I didn't start the apocalypse. I didn't get robbed. I didn't get swept out into the ocean via a tsun
I mean, it's a great game and all. But the load time takes longer than the actual game. You can never tell when the loading will finish. Seriously, sometimes the loading takes longer after the bar has filled then while it is filling. It really annoys me.
Then there's when the whole thing freezes, usually around the Reidak and Zaktan levels. It starts loading, and then just stops.
The game is difficult and all, but if the game would load correctly and/or faster, I'm sure I could finish
How to Train Your Dragon
I saw it in theaters (sadly, not in 3D, but oh well.) I thought it was an excelent movie. Good animation, nice storyline, but its the flight scenes that were truly spectacular. I mean, I saw this and Avatar, but this seemed to make a bigger impression. Now it's mine on DVD. Sadly, my computer does not have any 3D capacities (and the disk doesn't come with any either).
Mostly cheap dishes. See, I went and got some moderate quality stuff a couple of years ago when I was living in the dorms, but I didn't need to use it when I moved home. As such, my sister took all of it, and she isn't giving it back. Which is fine, and I said that I would just go to the store and buy some cheap stuff when I move to Dallas. This way, I can choose my own styles and I won't have to transport it. But nope, instead my sister went and bought a bunch of cheap stuff on her own, cl
Since I was home, I made some jello. Yes, I can actually cook something. Yeah.
Anyway, it started out as lime flavored. Green. Yay.
Then I remembered that sometimes you can add juice in to give it n extra flavor. I put in V8 Splash juice.
But since I was making the speed method, I needed ice. But we were all out of ice! So I threw in some Popsicles to cool it down.
It came out looking blackish, with a odd tint of green. It had a fruity flavor... not a distinct one, but I co
I've seen it everywhere in the last 24 hours. On BZP. On TV news. On NPR radio. Seriously, people just complaining about something for, as far as I can tell, the sake of complaining about something.
Take this NPR thing I listened to. Two guys, both on opposite sides, talking about some political issue. Sometimes they had a good point, but both of them were just repeating stuff over and over again that basically came down to "I am right, U R wrong!" I found both of their arguments lacki
Oh phooey, I can't believe I just figured this out right now.
I missed the deadline for BBC 54. I have it built, I even have a picture, but I never got around to entering it. :annoyed2:
Well, that's okay, I guess, because certain critics said it wouldn't win anyway...
