Changed My Mind...

Okay, my original idea for the newest story contest was to retell parks of Duka's story (based of his short Epicfest story and his adventures in Time Disruption) using the song Come Sail Away by Styx. But when I started planning it out, it seemed rather slow and repetitive. While I may eventually write the whole thing out and post it anyway, I want something a little more appealing for my contest entry.   I was thinking of creating a fight between Nuparu Inika and a Piraka, while using Tom Pe

Finished With My Eagle Project

Yep. All that stuff about installing benches and all that I griped about last month is over. I've completed my Eagle project, finished all my merit badges, and got almost everything signed off. Now I just need to pass my Eagle Board in a few weeks, and I'll be of a new rank.   Not that I'll get it, because the Board is suppose to be very tough on you. But I have hopes. And now a little bit more freetime to focus on... homework! UHG.

Short Story Contest Arrives...

I've never been the greatest SS writer, but I'm going to enter this contest no matter what. Well, I'll try and put quality work in, but you get the point.   It's a song-fict contest. See the official topic for all the details and rules. I have this great idea for a song and I even think I know which character I'll use. Coincidently, I also used him in my Epicfest entry. Anybody remember Duka?   And, no, this has nothing to do with the other Time Disruption project I'm working on. That's

Trouble

Did you knwo that some plastic covering sheets used for the walls of our Haunted House give of a noxic gas when they burn and whither away? The fire marshals did, so we had to tear down all the plastic walls (and that was all the walls) and replace them with wooden walls. And that means, instead of stapling thin plastic, we have to nail in heavy wooden sheets over and over again... and again, and again. So that pushed our opening night back a few days...   Not that I'm complaining. If the f

Paint

While helping paint the Haunted House, I've realized how useful paint thinner is. When you get sticky white paint all over your hands, it doesn't come off using a little soap and water... but some solvents work better. Yet the paint jobs looks pretty good... nice and scary.   Oh, and I'm writing a scary story for Spanish, and just because I can, I think I'll add Tahu into it.

Haunt Your House...

Well, I was going to go on a scout trip this weekend, but I have a ton of homework to get through. I would do it after school, but my drama class gets to be apart of the schools Haunted House, so we'll be doing that in the evenings next week. The planning we've done has been really cool so far, and I can't wait to get in it. It's suppose to be one of the bigger haunted houses in our state... it fills up the school's entire Multi-Purpose Room. (Much to the displeasure of my drama class... we'

Keep Your Eyes On The Road.

What did I learn today in Comparitive World Govenrment Class? Not too much about Nigeria (which we're currently studying). No, I leanred that some people like to drive down the road with their eyes closed.   It's apparently the new "in" thing. "Everybody does it". Just find a section of road you know well, close your eyes, and navigate like you normally do. Half the people at my table say they have done it. I told them they were crazy.   Thus I think I may need to find a new table to sit

Cloudy Skies...

Erm...   One last thing to complete for my Eagle Project...paint a Kiosk. But as it is now October in the Pacific Northwest, it's guaranteed that it'll rain every day till sometime in May (give or take a few sunny Mondays when we have to go to school/work). So I may have to delay that paint job and/or take it off the schedual completely.   Yeah, the rains in the Northwest can get depressing (especially in February) but it's what keeps our landscape green and our rivers flowing. We are so no

Sats

How fun is it to wake up early in the morning, shove yourself in a classroom and take a brutal exam for four hours straight. Not only that... you pay for it too! Yep, the great fun of taking the SAT tests... apparently you need 'em for college or something.   Can't say anything about the actual test... secrecy and stuff. If you think they go overboard with the SAT, they go crazy with secrecy on all the Advanced Placement Tests in May... This was my second time taking it, and it wasn't so b

Happy Friday The Thirteenth!

Yay! Today is one of those lucky (not) days where the thirteenth of the month lands on a Friday, and thus everybody calls it Friday the Thirteenth. It's suppose to be an unlucky day or something... I don't know the history on it.   So, everybody, go out an do something today. Break a mirror, run around searching for a black cat (mine is asleep on the bed right now), step on a crack, walk under a ladder, ext., ext. But just make sure you aren't superstitious, or you might get unlucky. But i

I Am A Bad Person...

Why?   Procrastination, self interest, and laziness come to mind, but I suspect those are just normal characteristics of people.   No, I care that my rating has gone down a star.   I'm as bad as those people who care about their post count.   Hit me on tthe head with a brick so I can go on with me life.

Piraka Animation #2

Even though the animation came out a few weeks ago, (I think) I just got around to taking some screen shots. Overall, the animation was quite interesting... got a little bit more action out of the Piraka, rather than just introducing them. I got about 50 shots for this section, which can be viewed at this majhost.com gallery. You will have to scroll down and go to the second page to see the second set, as that gallery also includes the first animation...   Anyway, some interesting shots.

They Replace My Radio Station!

ARHHHHHH!   I am so angry. My favorite radio station, Mix 107.5, has now been replaced by Moving 107.5 Mix used to play "the best mix of the eighties, and more!" Sure, they played alot of the same songs, but they never replayed a song twice in one day. And it was good music too... none of that ol' 60s stuff or this new poppy stuff. They played rock, country, new wave, and alot of my favorite songs, and the DJs were cool too.   And when I tuned in on the radio this morning, instead of h

~~~fiction~~~
I don't know how common it is elsewhere, but at my High School, we have to complete Senor Projects. It's alot like a Boy Scout Eagle Project, but I can't use my same project for two thing. It's mostly on speeches tlaking about how the project changed me and the world around me. Or something along those lines.   While installing more benches will be a bit redundant for me, I was thinking about maybe writing a story. It'll teach me how to write fiction (like I don't know how) and it'll help
Vnolg Tip
I have discovered a nifty trick in the VNOLG that I would like to pass on.   You know how, in some scenes, there’s this nasty barrier cutting you off from another area. And the only way to get through is to go around the long way… Well, if you have the teleportation pack in your attacks, and you fight a Rahi on the other side of the barrier, you can use the pack to teleport yourself over the barrier and face the Rahi. Sure, it doesn’t work all the time… trees and stones block it. But ther
Glitch-o-mania
Well, it's not that bad...   Playing as Hewkii, I managed to get to the end of Level Seven on the VNOLG. And then I got that stupid glitch, and I'm stuck in jail. My little pet won't free me either. And I was at level 39! Plus I finally found a few good weapons... Ice Launcher and Store Harpoon.   But since Hewkii's going nowhere, I signed up on my alter-ego account and started playing as Matoro. But now I'm at the part where they expect me to dash across the island over and over... and
Catch It If You Can
Uhg. Spent most of yesterday with a sore throat, and now I'm staying home from school. Yep, I get the pleasure to have a sick day. It's not as much fun as when you're actually sick, though. But it might be contageous, so I'll have to stay out of math class and Comparative World Government and whatnot.   Oh boy. See ya later.
Reidak Is A Happy Meal Piraka
I dropped by a local McDonalds today and bought meself a Lego Toy. That, and a large thing of fries. (Sure, all their food is pretty bad for you, but I couldn’t resist.) Anyway, I asked to buy one of the toys (preferably Nuparu) but all they had was Reidak and Hahli. So, knowing how I don’t like Hahli, I went for Reidak. It’s an interesting toy, and I thought I would make a quick review.     The Looks: In general, he looks pretty much like our favorite black Piraka. Everything is sort o
Why I Just Love Scouts...
Looks like I need to increase my blog rating by, maybe, writing about something. So here it goes.   Spent the weekend on a scout trip. We canoed in a mountain lake. I went with the venture patrol and canoed to the camp site in the middle of the night. It’s quite something to be out on the water in pitch black darkness, and you can only see the other canoes from the flashlights (and the only person who knew where we were going didn’t have his on. What fun). Then, over the weekend, there we
Voya-nui Online Game
It's addictive. That's bad, cause it'll mena I'll miss out on homework and yet never finish the game. Ah, well.   I chose to be Toa Hewkii, (not that it makes much of a difference). The battles are slightly annoying, although interactive. The game doesn't appeal to me the way the MNOLGs did... it's more like the Battle for Mata-Nui (the one with the Bohrok). It's much better, but big, and I am never very good at these games. I'm going to spend some time on it Sunday, and see if I can find
Come Around Again...
I've been pretty sad this week so far. But life goes on. I can't think of anything meaningful to post, but I want to post something. So, anyway, here's a song I've been listening to lately. It kinda matches my mood. Plus, it kinda tells you my taste in music.   Come Around Again ~ Jet   Yeah I'm waitin' for you, it's been so long...   Yeah I'm waitin'. For you, it's been so long I'm sad when I'm on my own They said it takes a long, long time If it's not too much Could you hear me no
A Loss
Last Friday was a pretty terrible day. I watched the Saturday evening news, and the first ten minutes reported about five deaths that had occurred on Friday. One of them was a friend of mine who had died in a car accident. It’s really sad, because she was such a great person. And it kind of reminds me a lot about car accidents. When people drive irresponsibly or just aren’t as cautious as they should be, then things can happen. I’ve heard stories of how a fatality from a car accident effec
When It Rains...
I get soaked.   I think I just witnessed the first big rainstorm of the season. There was thunder and lightning, and in the Multi-Purpose Room (Theatre) the echos made the thunder LOUD! (Try rehursing for a play over the sound of thunder... and we did Dracula last year). And when I rushed out to find my mom's car, the rain was coming down HARD! As in I was soaked after five minutes of searching... turned out my mom was a little late.   So, the rain has died down, but I'm still soaked as
Lego Club Pages
I just spent an hour cruising the Lego Board and checking on random pages. It's so funny to see all the stuff people put up there... all the polls are the same, the links are the same... it's hard to be unique on there. And for those who waqnt to "advance" their rank... they need to make friends. I made a friend with my "other account" and I got a couple more stars. So I spent some time asking random people to be my friend, just for no reason at all. It's fun, and that's what it's all about
Blue Blues
Is it just me, or are the blue characters this year lacking in something?   Well, maybe it is just me, but the single characters I dislike the most (set wise) out of the Piraka and Inika are Vezok and Hahli. They are both the blue sets, and I have never been disagreeable to blue sets in the past? Why now?   For Hahli, it's quite simple. The mask su... isn't that good. It looks estraterestrial, with a mustache and all. I mean, it wouldn't be that bad if it was on Nuparu or Kongu, but on
