A Good Ol' Meeting...

Just got back from one of my scout meetings. It's my second to last (or third, I'm not quite sure) meeting as the Senor Patrol Leader, and I am soooo glad to be stepping down. Being SPL is A LOT of work (planning for meetings, keeping people organized, ext). I've learned that I prefer to lead by example, which does not always work when I'm trying to get a whole room of roudy scouts to SHUT UP!! But the meeting went fairly well tonight. They paid attention, got stuff done, and prepared to e

Remember

I never had any personal connections to the 9-11 attacked. I lived on the opposite end of the country, and I didn't have any family involved. But, like anybody else, this tragic event effected me too. It shattered my perfect world vision... there were people out there who don't like us, and they were willing to do something about it.   When I got home from school on the afternoon of September 11, 2001, I watched the news until I got sick. It probably would've been better if they had just ai

I Would Like To Hit The "pause" Button Now.

Uhg.   What a day. I get up in the morning to rush my sister to school, and then get in a big argument over how much time I have to go to this store before I eventually run out of time and have to go to school anyway. Then I go through five straight periods (three of which are AP... AHHHHH!) get out, go to Albertsons to talk to a specific person, who turns out not to be there at all anyway, go straight to the park to prepare for my Eagle Project for four hours, then finally make it home at 9

School Starts Again!

Yep, I'm back in my last year of High School, and I'm not wimping out either. True, I am getting a late start for the first semester (so I can sleep in), but that's to make up for the Zaro Period I took last year (Where I had to get up earlier than normal! ARG!)   Classes are interesting. My AP Government and AP English classes are particularly scary from the workload they're predicting. I can handle Government, but I'm not looking forward to English. Calculus was interesting... before the

The New Piraka Animation

Hey, I liked it. It was better than the Hordika ones last year, and about equal with the Vahki ones. There were plenty of scenes I liked from it, and I took the time to make a collection of screen shots. Some of my favorites are...   The scenery of Voya-Nui. Even if it was the green belt, Voya-Nui isn't looking like that bad of a place. Kinda nice from that angle.   Water on Voya-Nui? Even though I bet it isn't official (makes it feel more tropical) I still found that ironic. Maybe the

I Was Getting Around To Writing This...

I had a ton of stuff to do today. I need to do a bunch of write-ups for my Eagle Project, like recruiting scouts to come so it actualls gets done. I have about two summer books to read before school starts on Wednesday (Yeah, you try reading The World Is Flat and see how long it takes you to doze off). My folks were also cleaning up the garage, something which I should've done. I also have about two unfinished epics on BZP that I should update. And what did I do all day? I lurked on BZPo

Hey, Driving Is Cool

Yeah, I never would've done this with my permit... anyway, while running erends for my Eagle Project (which didn't really help it in the end anyways) I stoped by Barns And Nobles... and they had Legacy of Evil! It took me months to locate the store that had Power Play, but I got my book just after reading about the news update on BZPower... pretty cool.   Yeah, the book is interesting as well, but seeing how I don't think I can comment on it on BZP yet, I'll hold off my review.

Asking For Donations

Whew, this Boy Scout Eagle Project business is tougher than I thought. I guess that's why there are far fewer Eagles than Scouts...   Anyway, what I'm finding tough is the donations part. I have to write letters, look professional, and ask for some free supplies to help build stuff for my project. And many businesses seem determined not to donate more than they have to...   Not that I've actually done anything yet. I've organized meetings and written letters. I haven't actually gone to a

A Quick Glance At Toa Kongu

I was just lucky to get another Toa Inika now. I had to make a deal with my little (but apparenlty richer) sister... I driver her places for a couple of months, and she helps me buy a Toa. I think that tips me over into the "Obsessed" section of the Bionicle fans, but oh well...   Kongu is just like Hewkii. The color sceme could be better, but I do prefer the body and feet of Kongu over the ones of Hewkii. The weapon is awesome with the blue lights, and the blue zamour is nifty too.   But,

Infections

This was my first comedy, and I can’t say that it’s very good or very bad. Just… different.   Bio: Makuta is bored, so he decided to infect all the Toa. He enslaves a Matoran named Nupari, and sets out to take control of Mata-Nui. But the Toa have other things in mind… like collecting rare masks, playing board games, and skateboarding.   Thoughts: Well, this comedy came back when review topics were allowed (But not before the 300 word rule). I had a nice review topic opened, but then it g

Wood Cut

This morning, I am going to host a Boy Scout wood cut to act as a fundraiser for my Eagle Project. I got really lucky… a tree fell down in our backyard, and it’s pretty big. That makes for a lot of wood to cut and sell, and thus have money to fund my Eagle Project. So all I need to do is some splitting, hauling, and selling, and then some people have firewood to burn in their fireplace, and I have some cash. It works out for everybody.   Meanwhile, I am reading Jared Diamond’s book Collapse

The Lego Bionicle Story

The Lego Bionicle Story: Part 1-2,Part 3-4,Part 5   Gar, my worst story EVER! Read on to understand why...   Bio: In the Bionicle world, the Great Beings has messed up, and the Toa were doomed. They planned on sending help in the form of Throwbots to aid the Toa against their fight against Makuta and his Rahi, but they wouldn't arrive in time. So they sent messages to humans, and a bunch went through the Bermuda Triangle and arrived on Mata-Nui. There, a collection of humans, including Joh

Safety Report: Di-hydrogen Oxide

"This is a safety report concerning Di-Hydrogen Mon-Oxide. Lawyers are calling for the abolishment of all Di-Hydrogen Mon-Oxide in the United States because of the immense threat it causes society (many drowning every year!) People are advised to dispose of any local Di-Hydrogen Mon-Oxide right away. Additionally, lawyers also wish to stop the Di-Hydrogen Mon-Oxide from sinking into the ground, accumulating Sodium Chloride, and then contaminating our oceans. If something is not done right aw

New Category: Epic Reports!

I really wanted something that I can continuously post in this blog whenever I feel like it, so I came up with this new idea. It’s my “Epics Report”. It will likely leave me with plenty of stuff to post, and also plenty of writing for people to ignore. We all become winners here.   Anyway, in my years on BZP, I’ve mostly written up stuff. I’ve tried to MOC and draw, but I’m no good at those. I write pretty well, and I have my nice, big collection of stories to share across BZP. Looking

The Final Alliance

The Final Alliance   My first Epic ever on BZPower. It was also an entry into Serious Story Contest #4 (and didn't place). So here are my thoughts on it.   Bio: The Final Alliance takes place during the Kal saga. It follows the Toa Nuva as the Kal successfully reawaken the Bahrag… but they awaken somebody else too… Makuta! The Bahrag take their Bohrok swarms and threaten to demolish all of Mata-Nui, leaving behind six Matoran (Jala, Takua, Huki, Nuparu, Maku, and Hahli) fused as a Matoran-

Computer Troubles With Bzp

I don't think this merits a whole topic, so I'll put it here.   Anyway, recently, whenever I've gotten on BZP, I try to click a link and I get this error message which shuts down my MSN Windows. This has never happened to me before, and now it happens constantly. And, much to my dismay, its happening on BZPower, and nowhere else. (Yet). So my question is has anybody else had this problem? It's knocked me off MSN and Internet Explorer, and my Virus Protection stuff seems to be working just

Hiking "do"s And "probably-shouldn't"s

Yay, I just got back from a brutal 50 Mile Hike with my scout troop. The one I did two years ago was fun and exciting, but this one was a lot harder. Lots of uphill and steep down hills, plus some rain. And I thought I had a pretty good grasp on hiking techniques (you know, for a scout) but I was WRONG. Here are some tips that I just feel like posting. Bring a fleece. And a rain jacket. It will seem heavy when you try to put it into your pack, but it sure beats freezing on top of a mountai

Yay, I've Entered Another Contest!

I'm all aboard this new Epics Contest with my Chapter Entry in Slizers on Mata-Nui. Jet, Torch, and Ski get to fight out again the cat-like Sunari. While it contains alot of action and power attacks, I wouldn't rate it as my best chapter or battle. But I think it's pretty good for including a character randomly... and I threw in some exceptionally witty comments. I hope that the judges enjoy it... whoever they are. Having been a Judge for the first Poetry contest, I know how fun the secrecy

First Impression Of Toa Hewkii

I finally broke down and bought my first Inika... Toa Hewkii. I'll give my first review of him, just in case anybody wants to read.   Anyhow, I bought him at the local Fred Meyers (where I've bought all my 06 sets so far) BTW, if there's a Fred Meyers near you, go there right away. There's a "Buy Two, Get One Free" deal on all LEGO Bricks, and the Visorak Playsets are on clearance... more than 50% off! That caught my notice... but I barely had enough to get one Toa, so...   Yeah, and canis

Crazy Sunday...

The Tom Petty concert was amazing! He played almost all my favorite songs of his, and the music was as good as if he had recorded it in a studio. Although I listened to most of it through earplugs... I was right next to the speakers. I have never exactly enjoyed reaslly loud conerts before, but if they always played my favorite music... I might change my mind.   Well, I got back home around 1 in the morning, work up at baout noon, and spent the rest of my day working on my Eagle Project.

Tom Petty

He may not be The Beetles or Pink Floyd, but Tom Petty sure has some great songs and is one of my favorite artists. And I get to go to a concert tonight to hear him! Yay. It sounds like it'll be really fun, and I hope he plays some of his older music as well as some new stuff as well. It'll be my first concert, so I hope it's cool. My mom says I should be a shirt, but I've heard they can cost up to $60. Talk about a rip off when all I want to do is listen to music. I hope it's worth it

Toa Inika Personalities

Reading through Dark Destinies and Power Play, I have come to see how our favorite Matoran are portrayed in the series. Some are pretty awesome, while others are strange. So I’ll make a quick list of them.   Jaller: When I first got into Bionicle, Jaller was one of my least favorite characters (responsibility? Why was he so into it?) However, as I’ve aged and used him in epics, I’ve begun to enjoy his character. And, now that he’s a Toa, he’s my favorite Fire Toa of all time! (Out of four

Kulagi Returns!

Yep, I've finally posted it. My summer epic, featuring Kulagi and some of his pals, is now on-line.   Kanoka Makers of Metru-Nui   I have about eight chapters written, so I'll post those daily until I run out. I had to create some title pictures, but I finally did that, so now the topic is up and the review topic is waiting for replies. If you've read Kulagi's Kanoka, you'll find this one to have some interesting Vahki chases and fight scenes. Plus, plenty of Kanoka action. And even bett

Epic Contest!

Yay! I've been waiting for this for over a year! (Which is apparently the amount of time it took for HH to recover from the EpicFest contest!). There is another epics contest, here, and I will be entering even if all of the Magania is set out to stop me! Unfortunately, I cannot simply enter Kulagi's Kanoka, because of the new requirement. I had to add a character in, and there's no room for anybody else in Kulagi's Kanoka or its sequel...   However... I have other stories.   None of my co

Reviewing The Bionicle Legend Books

I’m feeling rather bored right now. Since I just figured out a few new ways to mess with my Blog settings, I decided to write a few more reviews. Since I don’t have any Inika yet, I’ll go over my feelings on the books, Bionicle Legends by Greg F. I’ll try to keep it Spoiler Free, but I’m sure there’ll be a few that make it through. So be warned. And read at your own risk. It’s pretty long.   Spoiler Warning!                   Island of Doom. The first book, bringing back the Toa Nuva
