Pimp My Blog Again?

Don't make me break out the acne cream. (Do you get it? Yes, no... okay then...)   I have some ideas. My main idea is to use pictures I have taken personally, but I'm still a little hazy on the overall theme... should I limit pictures to my state, my city, or even my university (Hey, I could just scan the pamphlet they give out, and maybe mention the one week of the year where it actually looks like that)   I'm not really asking for suggestions... I have a plan in mind and taking in suggest

A Dream About Water Hill

I had this really strange dream just now. And I just have to blog about it. (You'll understand why in a moment.)   So there's this giant hill in my neighborhood. Well, in my dream, somehow I looked up this hill on Wikipedia, and it's been renamed "Water Hill" and it says that there's a surprise for anybody who reaches the top. So I go there and walk to the top of the hill, and there's a giant crystal water filter there. You know those water filter jugs you can buy and put in your fridge?

Tired

Tis been a loooooooong day. Longer than usual. Early morning group meet-up thingy, and then late night class. Normally I sleep in on Mondays. And if I could have my way, I'd sleep in everyday. The world really shouldn't start operating until after 11 AM.   In Lego related news... um, my sub is still incomplete. But I have paid for BrickFair registration now. Add that to the plane tickets, and I happen to know a guy who knows a guy who knows that I know a guy who can drive us around DC.

Registration At 6 Am

Uh oh...   It's time for Fall Registration... I just finished dealing with Summer registration! :annoyed2:   I also am finishing most of the prerequisite classes this summer for my new major. Unfortunately, I can't take many other classes for the major until I'm accepted into it... and I can't do that until next spring. So while I knew exactly what I wanted to do for the summer, I'm now realizing I don't have any idea what classes I should take for the fall.   I'm considering taking a wh

Why Won't This Come Out Right?

I went to lecture. I bought the textbook. I'm reading through the textbook, which is basically the same thing as the lecture. I have the lecture slides online too.   I should be able to understand this. But why isn't my html working right?   ARRRGGG! And I have no time to get help until Friday, and it's due tonight. Looks like I'll be using some late days...

Freaking Out

I stabbed myself in the hand with my mechanical pencil today. It didn't hurt too much, but it drew blood, and this was in class.   So when class let out 5 minutes later, I walked back to my dorm to bandage it up. I had all the stuff I needed, but I still checked the store in our dorm to see if they had better bandages... they didn't.   It was only a small puncture, but I was mostly worried about infection, so I used hydrogen peroxide, then slapped some neosporn and a bandaid on it. It see

Long Week

I don't know what about this week just made it unbearable. Maybe it was recovering from BrickCon, which I could've used two more days to catch up on sleep. (That much pure AWESOME wears you down). Could be that classes were unrelenting even in a second week... and half these classes are beginner courses. Jeez, I'd hate to be a Freshman right now... talk about broken spirit. Or maybe it was my 300 level class where the home work was over stuff we didn't actually cover in class. (For the re

9/11

I don't really have any big stories from that day, but here's something.   I was rereading an Animorphs novel the other day that was set in NYC. Very specifically, the sight of the Twin Towers gave away that it was set in NYC. I've seen older movies where they do a flyby of the city of whatever before focusing on the characters, and the Twin Towers always stood it. It's weird... and horrible... that such a symbol had been taken down. My thoughts go out to the people whose lives were changed

Fake Out!

Excerpt from one of my stories...   I threw my hands up as they aimed at me. There were more people here than I was counting on. I would need to bluff my way through this. “Don’t any of you move,” I said. “We’ve got you surrounded.”   “I don’t think you understand you predicament,” one of the men said, his gun pointed at my head.   “Yeah, we have you,” another one said.   “Really,” I replied. “Well, I bet you weren’t expecting that!” I pointed behind them, and amazingly, most of them sp

Last Chance To Enter!

My "Name That Member" Contest is coming to a close, so this is your last chance to submit an entry saying what you think the four letters x, c, c, and j stand for. I'll be leaving the entry entry ( ) opened for a few more days while I go on a Christmas adventures. (The roads aren't completely snow free, so it could turn into quite a disaster adventure.) This weekend, I will make up the polls.   Since there have been enough entries, I will try for multiple polls (probably two). Voting will

Burn Notice

At Sisen's suggestion, I started watching Burn Notice, a show from the USA Network that is not currently airing (summer premier is coming soon tho) Luckily, I have the INTERNET, and I used it to find roughly all the episodes so I could watch them. (You know, between homework)   Overall, I like the show. Sure, it has lots of explosives, but there always seems to be enough reasoning behind it, and you clearly see them preparing for the stuff, so it's not as bad as other shows. The main cast o

Burned!

What is it with these weekend Geology field trips? It was rainy at the school and cloudy in the mountains for the most part (it did snow a little). And I was wearing a long sleeve shirt. But that still didn't stop my head from getting baked.   The trip wasn't that great. 3 hours of driving for only 40 minutes of site seeing... not totally worth it. Although if my pictures turn out, I might have some excelent scenic shots of mountains and snow. Plus, on the way back one of the drivers got

I Already Hate Summer School

I signed up for my schedule nice and early, hoping there wouldn't be any problems with it.   First, they "suspend" one of my classes. I don't even know what that means, since I didn't hear anything about not being able to take the class, I just looked and the status was changed.   Then they switched the times for another class, making it overlap with another class's section. And I could've switched sections last week, but the other section is now filled up to room capacity. (Small rooms)

It's Been A Long Week

Wow, I've had the craziest first week of summer school. I have an early morning class, and then a late afternoon class that lasts for 3 hours. In the middle of the day (if I'm awake0 I'm trying to work some more hours at my library job, so I can earn some money to help offset rising food prices and stuff. (Seriously, I'm glad I have alot of help from my parents... there's no way I could support myself completely in this economy) So, basically, I've had some spare time to cruise BZP, but litt

My Feet Hurt

On the uphill section of the trail, I got blisters on my heels. (Like usual)   Wen we turned around and went downhill, my infected-but-getting-better toe was jammed to the front of my boot and hurt with every step.   I do not want to walk for the next few days.   Yay hiking.

Bad Me. Don't Do It Again!

Talk about a messed up sleep schedule...   It's not so much that I've been staying up late and waking up even later these last few days. It's that I fall asleep at my computer around 8 or 9 in the evening, take a "nap," and then wake up past Midnight and can't sleep for the rest of the night/morning. That is, until a few hours before classes start.   I really need to find some job with a night shift. I am so built for working at this time, and so not built for taking morning classes. >_

And I'm still stressing out because the classes were hard enough without having to do the homework!   Next week's gonna be bad...

I Gots My Droid!

Okay... maybe I should back up and explain.   I got the parts for my droid. Lego parts... that I ordered online. I've been annoyed with this particular order, because I paid for it a month ago. Most of my orders go buy in about two weeks... five days for shipping on either end, a few extra days to get stuff together. Whoever this person was delayed shipment of the parts for two weeks, until they finally replied to my e-mails. They claimed it was a mistake, and that they've been having fami

Scratches

In other recent Apple news, my iPod got its first major scratches.   I've had the thing for over two years now, and I've been plenty rough on it, so I'm not sure what the turning point way, but now it has two large gorges on the screen that will make viewing videos rather rough. (Although I rarely watch videos on it, to be sure. Mostly do so when I'm on long bus rides)   So, yeah, is very sad. Too bad the thing still works perfectly... or at least well enough. Not an excuse to get a new

Check The Warehouse

Warehouse 13 premiers tomorrow! Which means I'll be watching it on Hulu in two days. But since I've been waiting all year fo this, it doesn't bug me too much.   Also, late nights working means fewer people to chat with when I get home and get online. My new phone has Internet, but I am not paying for texting, so chatting is pretty much out of the picture.   Also, I should really enter my BBC Contest entry tomorrow. If I blow off posting it again, I won't have time to enter if before the

Chuck Returns

In case you don't know, I am a huge fan of the TV show Chuck. Zach Levi and Yvonne Strahovski are both excelent actors (with the latter being, let's face it, hot), as is Adam Baldwin. (Yes, that's right, Jayne) It's an excelent action spy comedy, IMO, and I'm glad it got renewed for a third season.   That season premiered tonight, and I watched it. I also tried to take part in that Twitter thing and I tweeted as I watched the show... 3 times too!   Anyway, it was pretty great. They di

Latest Obsession

FreeCell. Computer Card Game.   Seriously, I've been playing it far too much lately. I get bored, know I should start on some HW, and then I load a game and play it... then another one... then another one... and another...   It's nice because there's lots of automatic features... if there's a card that can go into the final spot, it'll go there automatically. (So when you have freed up all the cards, it finishes the whole thing for you) Plus it gives hints of all possible moves... usually
