*taking advantage of Premier Perks to republish this* All right. I figured that, with the old blog entry essentially being obsolete, and with the difficulty people have had in the past with finding out information on characters in RotR, it would be beneficial to create a new character list in which to organize things. So, here's how this is going to work. Everyone needs to post their characters' profiles in comments; from there, if you update anything (catch a Pokémon, change a move, modif
So for the three of you who actually care, you might've noticed that Perpetual and its related topics have been closed. "By request," as B6's closing posts say. Well... yeah. That's not a mistake--I asked for the RPG to be closed late last night after mulling it over for roughly two weeks. I won't begin to go into the reasons why I think Perpetual failed; suffice it to say that it boils down to the fact that there was virtually no direction given to the players. In hindsight this is somethin
Okay. I'm going to say this now: If this new Fire-Type starter evolves into a Fire/Fighting-Type, I might throw something. Having said that, I'm actually really excited for--and surprised by--this. Seems like only yesterday Gen. V was being released... and added to RotR... Which, to get this out of the way now: 1. Gen. VI will not be added to Rise of the Rockets until its Japanese release. As such, just like the case was supposed* to be with Gen. V, there will be no early-bird cameos. 2. I
Check it out! I think it turned out pretty nicely, personally. And yes, I did reuse part of a Sleight post for the Rocket portion of the introduction, but that's only because I thought it did a good job of showing what the current TR situation is. I'll probably change it at some point in the near future, though. =)
So, I've created an updated version of the Factions list for the front post of RotR. It's only a small part of the larger project, but still, it's something. Leave your thoughts/opinions/suggestions in the comments! Factions Numerous forces are at play in Rise of the Rockets. Which one you join, who you assist, is up to you--though that is not to say that the balance will not be affected regardless of your choices... Team Liberty Established a little over a decade ago to fight against Te
All right. So, for those who volunteered to help out with fixing/updating RotR's opening, I've given the front post some thought about what needs to be done. Just to begin with, here's what I think needs to be updated: -The Introduction It's really old. While it's fine for nostalgia's sake, all it does at this point is show the events leading up to the RPG, and does not really reflect anything that has happened recently--one might be led to assume that Operation RALLY is still the main startin
It's soooo outdated. Who wants to help me revise/update it? Alternatively, give me ideas of what needs to happen with it here and I will work from that.
Is it time for RotR to bow out? I'm looking for outsider perspectives here. The RPG for at least the last year or so--even around the beginning of the Manaphy Arc back in early 2010--has been struggling to stay active for long periods of time. Occasionally it'll get short bursts of energy where a ton of posts are made in a short period of time, but then it sinks again until something happens for another outburst of posts. As much as I try to tell myself otherwise, it's virtually on its last
So I may be meeting with a published author on Tuesday to discuss novel writing tips. As you can imagine, this is flippin' awesome. The only downside is that the meeting would be in Eugene, which is like... a couple of hours away from here. But you know what? I'm cool with that. The only issue is whether I can get a ride up there...
Day Run needs your help! It's tied with two other entries for third place and chances are that it's going to be knocked back into fourth by tomorrow! But YOU can help! Just go to the RPG Contest #23 Final Poll and vote for entry #2 (and also #5, Beat and Rhythm)! Quickly! Without your vote Day Run may never see a full conclusion--and that would be bad! Also now with COOKIES! 8D Oh, and don't forget the awesome song that just happens to fit this situation! I have wondered about you Whe
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the long-awaited Day Run wrap-up: The Report. Comment here, comment there, comment wherever--I'm not picky. Don't point out the massive amounts of dialogue, though--I know, and it was intentional. Bumping for the people who wanted this and have yet to read/reply/review.
Narrowest victory ever. Of all time. 1st. Island of Pain by TPTI--29 votes 2nd. Perpetual by Parugi and Loophole by Legolover-361--18 votes 4th. Waves of the South Alter Securi by Toa Levacius Zehvor--17 votes 5th. Dystopian by Giant of Lannister and Claustrophobia by Kryzath--16 votes I'm surprised by how much of a landslide lead IoP had, but dang--for a while there, the five-way race between the others was getting nerve-wracking...
A'ight, so, some of you may remember this entry, and if not, well, there you go--take a look at it so you know what I'm talking about. Well, I've given the idea a bit of thought, and I think it's time I presented the general idea to the public. Day Run ended last month. During the finale, we learned that what Lyxek really wanted was immortality. Due to numerous circumstances, he failed in obtaining that, and Ruaki was, for lack of a better term, destroyed. Well, what if in an alternate uni
Evidently Day Run was siphoning all of my effort out of Rise of the Rockets. Either that... or my ability to write great posts suddenly and randomly came back yesterday. But frankly, I don't think the corresponding awesomeness appearing again the day before Day Run shuts down is a coincidence... :3
Hi. Breaker The Coeur d'Ombre The Construct The Rose So there are a few. Expect more to come as time goes on. And yes, the Breaker is technically from Night Ride. But who cares?
12 Legendary Pokémon (Rayquaza, Kyogre, Groudon, the Deoxys Matriarch, three other specialist Deoxys, three Latios, and three Latias) vs. 9 super powerful ancient Darkrai with power over time and space. WHO WILL WIN THE TITLE OF DEADLIEST POHKAMOHN (TEAM)!? >:0
At the risk of being stalked (and making countless women (and men?) across the forum swoon,) here's a picture of me from my mom's wedding. Spoilered linked, of course, because I don't want to look at my face every time I scroll down this blog. Pic. The woman over my right shoulder is my oldest sister, Courtney. And the blur around her is not due to any photo editing, surprisingly enough. edit: fine, dv. :\
Okay... I'm going to be honest here: The deeper we get into Day Run's finale and its last week, the less and less motivated I feel to finish it. I don't know why. Maybe it's because I'm realizing as things go along that the gigantic down times really screwed up a lot of the plot and that things have evolved at this point so far beyond what I had initially conceived that I'm finding it impossible to figure out how any of it ties together in any sort of coherent way. If there's a lesson to be
