I got a parts order in. Roughly 400 pieces. I thought the $10 shipping was a little much, but turns out the shipping did[ cost that much... so I guess it's cool.
Sadly, there were some complications. About 12 or so bricks weren't present. 
BUT the guy gave me a $1.50 refund and there were a few pieces which I didn't order, so I guess we'll call it even on those grounds. BUT then, some of the pieces were dirty. So I cleaned them best I could. And then some were chewed. And I concluded that if you buy cheap, you get cheap. 
I'm still a good 200 bricks away from having all I need to build this sub. However, I tried to get started on a couple of sections. Even so, when building them, I realized I was still missing a few crucial elements, so I hastily replaced them with what I had on hand... I'll pull them out for the final version once I order the right parts in the right colors.
Thus, the two middle sections. My technic for connecting them together has worked out well; it's fairly stable but still comes apart easily for transport. I'm also impressed with the octagonal bricks on the bottom, which are working out well. (This is good, since they're going to be the ground support for the entire model) And, as you might guess, there's a lot of room beneath that dome, so now I'm thinking about how to build a good under mech / robot to fit in there.
I still have a lot of pieces to get, and I kinda need money now, so I won't be ordering them any time soon (I am such a liar), but it's nice to have some of the model physically built now.
