Yes, you read that title correctly. Need I say any more?

My school had a Relay for Life (raising money for cancer research) yesterday/today, and during the event groups sell baked-goods to participants to raise more money. I baked something I felt would be irresistible: a delicious cookie inside a delicious cookie. The mere thought sounds amazing.

So I baked a batch and they turned out amazing. Delicious, ridiculous, incredible.

Here's the recipe I grabbed online:

Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

Makes [approximately] 24 gigantic cookies

Prep: 25 minutes (eh...)

Cook: 13 minutes [or so]

Ingredients

• 1 cup (2 sticks) softened butter

• 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar

• 1 cup granulated sugar

• 2 large eggs

• 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

• 3 1/2 cups flour

• 1 teaspoon salt

• 1 teaspoon baking soda

• 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

• 1 package Double Stuff Oreo cookies

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together with a mixer until well combined. Beat in eggs and vanilla.

In medium bowl mix the flour, salt, and baking soda. Slowly add to wet ingredients along with chocolate chips until just combined.

With a cookie scoop, form balls with the dough.

Place one ball on top of an Oreo cookie, and another ball on the bottom. Seal edges together by pressing and cupping in hand until Oreo cookie is fully enclosed with dough.

Place onto parchment or silpat lined baking sheets and bake cookies for approximately 13 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to cooling rack.

The cookies were almost the size a fist. Huge. It's great.

Benjamin - can you bring some to BrickFair? Please?!

Hmm...tempting. One batch probably makes enough for just the staff...

Maybe this will be what xccj, EW, and Nuju Metru and I do on Wednesday.

Remind me later.

Wow, I never even thought about doing this. I must make some.

How do they taste?

They taste delicious! There's the classic chocolate-chip cookie taste in the first bite, then with the second you get the crunch of the Oreo. Following that is a sweeter taste of a sizable bite from the Oreo and its frosting mixed in with the chocolate-chip cookie. Everything after that is just as amazing as the flavors and textures change with each bite.
