School Movie Project

Oh, I knew this was going to happen. I tried to avoid it, but it happened nonetheless...

So for my online diversity class, we were given a big group project. My group decided to do a short, informative movie on domestic violence. Funny thing, none of them knew how to make movies except for me. So I volunteered to make the movie in the end.

Now it's the end. The thing is due in two days. And my group really dragged their feet since we got this project three months ago. They were supposed to do research, and lots of it, and then I would get to come along and put it all into a movie. Instead, what they did was send me a couple of sheets of random-ish facts and high expectations for what it should turn out to be. Since we're worrying about copyright stuff, I had to go do my own boatload of research to find the right music and pictures to use for this movie, and then interpret, rephrase, and organize all the data they sent me into something meaningful.

I've been sending them WiPs of the movie, asking for advice. So far, all they've come up with is that I should do a whole lot more stuff that they didn't research but would be great for the overall project. And I'm frustrated 'cause I've been doing a lot of work already, and this is really stuff they should be doing. Gah. (And of course, their communications have been brief and somewhat vague)

So yeah, that's been what's annoying me this weekend. Mind you, this is a college group project, and some of these guys are looking to graduate soon. So yeah...

Also, I don't like the course in general.

Ask them for the information you should put in. In nice bullet points. Tell them you've done plenty of work and they need to provide some of the stuff.

If they don't give you the stuff it's their fault. Spice up the video however you like and call it a day.

Try using some violence on them to get them to help you, both motivating them and doing research at the same time! :P

Maybe tell them exactly what kind of info/research you want from them. Perhaps you've already done this, but if not, it might be a good idea.

Good luck.
