1408

Toa Smoke Monster

Anyone else seen the movie 1408? I watched it for the second time earlier tonight, and I enjoyed it just as much as when I first saw it. I think John Cusask (sp?) does a good job in the movie. My favorite scenes are when his character, Michael, is talking to Samuel L. Jackson's character in the mini-fridge and when Michael is hugging his daughter towards the end of the movie. Of course, I liked many of parts of the movie too. Like when Michael is on the window ledge and when he sees himself in the room of the building across from him.

So, what are your thoughts on this movie?

I enjoyed it, but thought it dragged on a whole lot towards the end. It was short and sweet as a short story even though the ending was a bit anticlimactic, but the movie felt like they tried to Hollywood it up a bit too much.

A good movie, but not on my all-time-favorites when it comes to horror/suspense/thriller/whatever you'd consider it. At least a pretty fresh idea, which Stephen King is pretty good at, if anything.
