Political Candidate Of Choice

Peach 00

As the blog rules say, it's perfectly fine to say who you support in the political race. If I could vote, I'd vote for Newt Gingrich. As I can't vote, I'd still say Newt Gingrich. =P

Plus, let's keep this at least civil, guys. You know the rules.

If I vote, I'll probably vote for Obama. I haven't been too satisfied with the way he's done things so far, but when it comes to values and beliefs I'd take him over any of the competition.

I don't even know who to vote for because they all suck. :(

Just consider each candidate's position on things and think which might fix things best, honestly.

Not trying to argue, but honestly, values and beliefs aren't going to help resolve the issues. Again, not trying to argue (and not overstep the boundaries, might I mention), but maybe that's just me. =/

If Rick Perry goes down I don't know who I'll vote for, not happy with any of the other popular candidates.

I say Rick Perry. I agree with almost all of his stances, AND the Texas economy is A LOT better than other states. Maybe he can fix the rest of it.

Aw, crud.

I just realized I'll be old enough vote next election. Now I can't use that as an excuse not to pay attention to politics.

In terms of 'popular' candidates, who are you referring to? Just a question, because I do believe that in that club ar probably Ron Paul and Mitt Romney. Romney isn't too bad, but he sadly won't beat Obama. And Perry is okay, but his image deteriorated slightly when he started arguing with Romney. =/

That does have some truth to it, but it depends on different issues besides just the economy. I could name a few, but you probably already know which issues I'm talking about.

I'm in agreement with Laughin'Man.

You can read my post for my answer, lol.

Basic thing about politics: Whatever happens to the country depending on the president's judgement can really determine what your future's going to be like, considering the state of the country at the moment. It really can affect what jobs you'll be getting and stuff like that, honestly. =/

I still say Stewart/Colbert.

Wut?

Lol, yeah... I still like Perry's stance on the other issues, xD.

I'm not much of a Grinch fan, but maybe he'll impress me at the next debate(if there is one).

Well, he's right on most issues, but when he says things, he trips over his words, sadly. :P

And Gingrich is a good candidate, I'd say attempt to listen to him at the next debate or interviews you see him in. I wish Cain didn't have to drop out, but politics is a dirty game to play in. =/

When you don't particularly like any of the candidates overall, it makes more sense to just vote for the one who shares your values, beliefs, and ideals.

And regardless, values and beliefs are certainly important. A politician's choices reflect his or her values and beliefs. Politics in general are based on values and beliefs.

How they choose to resolve the issues (or whether they do at all) is directly related to their values and beliefs.

I support Mitt Romney, he's a truthful & loyal man and a very good business leader.

Edit: But I also like Ron Paul for standing like a rock on his values and beliefs, even if I don't agree.

Yeah, but he has a good record. Like the economy in Texas, not backing down, and.. umm... the economy in Texas, the.... um... oops.

Well, it depends on what you consider it takes. And even though values and beliefs are important, it isn't as important as fixing the issues. Values aren't always related to the view of a politician. And yes, there are several candidates who are going to resolve the issues, some politicians just talk about fixing it yet don't get the job done, and to me, that's Obama, but I'm not going to step any further and let this get any more heated than it already has.

Still, we both have different opinions. Since politics is a more forbidden subject on here, I don't want to get both of us in trouble, so I'll end it here: Values can't always fix the problems, and even though they are important in some political areas, they can't fix what needs to be repaired. But hey, let's just leave it at that and at least shake hands and forget about it, to avoid arguing further.

Yeah, he probably does - and, nice joke there. xD

I'm with Laughin' Man in general sentiments on this as well. I'm still pretty unhappy about some of the things Obama's done, but ultimately I feel he's better than the other candidates out there for the job.

Eh, it depends. He's caused a lot of problems, and I don't see them getting fixed by him any time soon. Maybe that's just me. =/

He also took the reins during a recession and led his people out of it.

Not saying the aftereffects aren't still there. But for the circumstances, he did decently.

And besides, I'm a socialist. Ya think I'm gonna even CONSIDER a Republican? xP

Heh, I congratulate you for admitting that. I know so many people who deny that fact entirely even though they are socialists. :P

Well, the problem is, Bush isn't really to blame. Lots of people blame Bush, and although blaming Obama isn't any better, Obama's still caused a lot more problems. And because we have such an enormous difference in opinion (I'm a conservative, can't you tell? XD), I don't want to go any further on this discussion, same as I said to LM. Better to just forgive and forget, I guess.

Peach, not trying to be rude or anything, but by presenting your opinion on other people's positions, it would be seen as attempting to start political discussion (as it is political discussion, discussing candidates). Stating who you'd go with, from what I get from the Blog rules, is a-okay but by presenting an opinion on them... well, discussion would occur once someone had a conflicting opinion.

I'm saying this just so this entry doesn't go down that path, and so bloggies don't have to close it, as it is a little interesting to see what candidates people do support here. (Discussion, admittedly, would be interesting as well, but BZPower just isn't the place for it... for soooo many reasons).

Since Herman Cain dropped out, I haven't really been following the political debates. Mitt Romney seems fine, as does Newt Gingrich, but I don't know some specifics of their plans (at least Cain's plan was just three words XD). I honestly don't support Obama at all; he promised to do things but hasn't done them, and his multi-million dollar bailouts earlier in his term didn't help us get out of the recession at all.

Thanks for letting me know, Spink. I didn't want it to, but I replying to stuff got me into a political mood, lol. I like to talk about politics, and I love to talk to other people about it, so I just forgot about the rule. Thanks still, I get what you're trying to say. I'll back down on the discussion - thanks again for reminding me. :)

EDIT: LL, I totally agree with you, honestly. You can see my aforementioned comments for why I won't say much more about it, but I definitely do agree with you.

Hmm.

This subject.

I really, really like two of them, and I really, really dislike two others, but the rest I'm pretty apathetic about.

And that's all I'm going to say.
