Recent Purchases
Because I feel like it, here's a list of things I have just recently bought (in no particular order):
-Inheritance, by Christopher Paolini. Way, way, too long, even for the Inheritance Cycle, although I think it was the best book in the series. Won't be rereading it for a while, I expect, because it was just too long, which made it boring and unenjoyable.
-The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins. It was a pretty good book, good enough that I want to buy the other two books in the series, but it was kind of depressing. Not as boring as Inheritance, though. That's for sure.
-Fullmetal Alchemist 3-in-1 Manga, Volumes 1, 2, and 3. I have already watched FMA:B and the original series, so I decided to pick up the manga both series were based off. It's excellent, even better than Brotherhood in some scenes. I'm going to try to buy all of the 3-in-1 manga collections, since it's such a good deal IMO.
-Yu-Gi-Oh! Number 10: Ilumiknight tin. I got some decent cards from this tin, as well as my first ever Xyz monster (Illumiknight, for those who are curious). A good purchase.
-The Spirit Thief, by Rachel Aaron. An entertaining book with some really interesting characters and ideas, although it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. I definitely want to check out the next book, though.
-How Not to Write a Novel, by Howard Mittelmark and Sandra Newman. A very good book on novel writing, although I already knew most of the "what not to do"s they write about. It's definitely worth reading, though, if you want to become a published novelist or even just get better at writing.
-Super Man: Doomsday. A good movie, in my opinion, and, because this was the two-disc special edition DVD, it had four episodes from Superman: The Animated Series, not counting all of the special features. Good deal for just $10, IMO.
That's about it. I think I made several good purchases. The only I am kind of eh about is Inheritance, but even it wasn't the worst book I've ever read.
