Korra Finale Entry posted by Xaeraz June 23, 2012 529 views Share
 Followers 0 Predictable. Cop-outy. Too much wrapped up. Severely underwhelming.
Zipper Posted June 23, 2012 All they needed to do was cut out the last five minutes and I would've been fine. Quote Link to comment
Dorek Posted June 23, 2012 The thing nobody is considering is: Did they finish season one without knowing they would have a season 2? If so, pretty much every complaint becomes irrelevant. Quote Link to comment
Zipper Posted June 23, 2012 Even if they were planning to end it with just 13 episodes, there would still be a lot of unexplained plot holes, like how Amon's bloodbending could work like energy bending. I think the creators already knew that they would have a 2-cour series, but felt that they needed to end it with a high note since it is a Nickelodian show. Still, the tone of the ending is stark contrast to the boat scene between Tarlokk and Amon just moments before, and not only is it an ill-conceived deus ex machina, but it also carries an unfitting tone. Spoil your spoilers, man. -Xae Quote Link to comment
Aanchir Posted June 24, 2012 I loved the finale and was impressed how effectively they explained Amon's origins and motivations. Much better than how they explained Tarrlok's several episodes previously, and in fact they even went above and beyond by adding more depth to Tarrlok's backstory at the same time. In fact, I was impressed how well they wrapped everything up in just two episodes. They could have gone to huge lengths to explain how bloodbending could be used to block people's bending, but I think that would have been unnecessary. It's easy to fill in an explanation for yourself, since we know already how body function ties in so closely with bending. Perhaps I'm just easy to please. I also like the A:TLA series finale, which I know a lot of people felt like a cop-out. But overall I thought these were some of the best episodes in the series so far and they definitely leave me wondering how the next season will follow up on them. Quote Link to comment
