Broken Unity, Chapter 6

Working on it.

In other news, in light of that information regarding the Red Star,

evidently Lyxek's plan for immortality was all for naught after all. Though this does give me a few interesting ideas, and it helps explain some weirder parts of the Broken Unity lore--such as the very concept of a God of Death existing at all.

It also opens up numerous possibilities, such as how the Immortality Factor can be justified in that RPG that I'm not submitting this contest. Also, possible return of numerous BU-canonically-dead characters--Jaeda, Severo, Therapon, Mechanic, Cannon Fodder, the rest of Team Zero, hm?

Actually, we'll see about that. I feel bringing them back would be a rather... disliked development, one that I'm not sure I'm willing to risk. Still, RPG-part-justification, and also growing signs of Greg's possible return to writing--that's always good! 8D

Returning from the dead and being immortal are two different things.

With the Red Star a character dies and then is essentially resurrected. An immortal chacter may get hurt but they never die.

Oh and this new information sort of messes with Slate's artificial immortality. As he was altered to find a new form after his body dies, subconsciously. I was gonna keep this a secret but know it doesn't make as much sense to do so anymore. :P

Kal: Yes, you should. =p

Regardless of the specifics, Lyxek's thing is that he doesn't want to die, no matter how he accomplishes that. Theoretically, the Red Star could grab someone's soul, give them a new body, and then teleport them back as many times as they die--effectively rendering them immortal. Sort of like Ra's al Ghul and the Lazarus Pits from Batman. All in all, Lyxek would consider that to be the same thing he's looking for.

Either way, though, until Greg demonstrates the limits to the resurrection thing, it's up to our imaginations to figure out stuff regarding it. In the case of the RPG, it would simply be a case of the Red Star's signal being amplified and modified: teleporting spirits back to their original bodies after some undetermined amount of time after death, repairing enough damage to sustain that being's life when it does so.
