blog-0300473001355596053.jpgFinally, after 14 years, we finally get a Rancor pit LSW set!

It's just a little... small.

The rancor, the set, but certainly not the price ($60, 380 pieces).

I've been in favor of something made from constraction pieces, and then of course something larger. This guy is Hulk/Troll sized, nowhere near the size of the Rancor.

At least we finally have one.

I can forgive them for the size because IT'S A RANCOR FINALLYYYYYY and also it's Lego and all the ships are out of scale anyway so it's all just a kind of cute scale so it's fine that it's smaller.

How does it compare to the Rancor in the LSW game? Can't remember if that one was brick built....

The set itself is hardly worth it unless you have the Palace to go on top though. If I didn't have the Palace I'd just pick up the Rancor on eBay.

I guess from a "cute LEGO minifig" perspective, the size is fine. Just not what I was expecting.

I believe they are approximately equal, having recently played the game. However, I am unsure about the size.

The Rancor Pit set is amazing. My only real disappointment is that it doesn't allow for any convenient way of "lifting" the tower segment of Jabba's Palace. You can stick the gate under it, but then the gate can't open. But hey, I guess that's just an incentive for builders to MOC their own droid dungeon.

I think that is deliberate and we'll get a droid room or something to go under the tower.

The Rancor is way bigger than the Hulk or Cave Troll. A better comparison would be the T-Rex from the recent Dino line. Given that, and the fact that those massive parts are not likely to ever be used again, I think the price is pretty fair.
