3DS

So, I've pretty much set in mind I am going to get a 3DS in the next few weeks. I have more than enough money at the moment, but I think I'm only going to buy the console and one game at the moment. Now, the difficult thing is deciding which game to buy. I'm wavering between Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and Animal Crossing: New Leaf. So, BZP, which would you recommend?

I'm seriously considering buying myself animal crossing. But I've heard Dark Moon is good as well. Just bought animal crossing. curse the e-store being so easily accessible!

My brother owns a 3DS and has played both games. He prefers Luigi's Mansion--he considers it the best 3DS game he's played. (Personally, I think Kid Icarus: Uprising holds that spot)

And I'm also waiting for Mario and Luigi: Dream Team.

Me too!

I hear you can't really go wrong with Super Mario 3D Land, but Luigi's Mansion is a good alternative; depends on which plumberbrother you like more.

I can never in good conscience recommend Animal Crossing because I hate town and sim games in general, but if that's up your alley, I hear it's definitely top notch in that genre.

The best part about KI:U is the difficulty system and the fact that there are so. many. WEAPONS! There's so much stuff to do and the flying portions are so much fun.

The control system isn't hardly as bad as everyone says it is. Once I started holding it with my right pinky beneath the system, any control problems were gone. I got more handcramps trying to race Epona in Ocarina of Time 3D than the entirety of KI:U.

And the background chatter is hilarious.

If the choice is between Luigi's Mansion and AC:NL, I'd recommend AC:NL, simply because that game is going to offer a lot more playtime. Luigi's Mansion is a solid game, but it doesn't have a ton of replay value imo.

Of course, if you're choosing ANY 3DS game...Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate all the way :P

They're both great, but I'd recommend New Leaf. Spotpass giveaways and an in-game clock mean that it's more time sensitive, whereas you could get Luigi's Mansion at any point in the future and still get the same experience.
