If you are not a premier member, you're not allowed to keep using your blog. So stop.

Also, I am at Brickfair with lots of other awesome people, and it is awesome. As per the usual.

Also also, you can indeed talk about evolution on BZPower, because it's science, not religion or politics.

Why not just let them use the blogs until buttlop fixes it? Haha, seems like it's less of a pain then being ridiculously hardcore about it.

Are we really sure that last ones a good idea?

This is established rules. You can ask Mandrew. There is nothing political or religious about established science, and evolution is allowed on bzpower no matter what other staff have said. Straight from Black Six.

Huh. I distinctly remember a bit of weirdness a while back in which dinosaurs basically became a banned topic in COT, because mentioning dinosaurs could lead to mention of the age of the Earth and/or evolution, which could (and often did) lead to a massive blurglefest regarding people who disagree very strongly with rocks in Iceland.

The debate over established science is not allowed. It is a political and or religious debate. But you are more than welcome to mention and discuss evolution apart from the drummed up pseudo-controversy.

And this statement comes à propos of...?

(I don't disagree with the sentiment, but I'm a bit perplexed as to your motives for bringing it up.)

But I thought Religion and politics where off limits because we where trying to reduce flame wars... Established science or not, this can be a very volatile subject.

There is nothing controversial about science, nothing religious or political about science itself until made so by others. It's not a volatile subject- people make it a volatile subject (just like expressing your sexuality). This is the rule on BZPower per the administration (I am posting this as Black Six is looking over my shoulder).

I beg to differ. But say what you will. (I never mentioned that word, BTW.) Oh, and that argument can be said for literally anything that people disagree on.

Yeah, you can link to the "definition of controversial" but that doesn't make for any sort of real argument. We have rules against religion and politics, not against science or "controversial subjects". Evolution is none of the above, it is just science. It is not making a religious or political statement, as it is agreed upon by people in all political and religious spectrums. Others may make objections to that, but making religious or politically-based debates about established science are not allowed. Mentioning evolution in, say, an S&T topic is not against the rules, per Black Six. Who is, again, in this room right now agreeing.

I'm not arguing that it isn't a rule. I'm arguing the logic behind the rule as it relates to other rules. And saying that it's proven science shouldn't automatically mean it's okay to discuss. Because, regardless of what I think on the topic, I have seen it become a very touchy subject. I'm not saying you should ban all discussion on it, that quite frankly doesn't seem right, what I'm saying is that based on other rules it seems strange to allow this and not other things.

I have a very big interest in this sort of thing, so it's nice to know that I have the option of talking about fan theories on evolution and related topics without being censored for it! :D Thank you for the clarification, DeeVee!
