National Novel Writing Month

TNTOS

Today officially kicks off the first day of NaNoWriMo 2013! Yay!

This year, I am writing an original fantasy novel titled The Mad Voyage of Prince Malock. As you have probably already noticed, I have added a NaNoWriMo word count content block to this blog, which will be updated daily as I write my novel. Feel free to borrow the general format for your own blog if you are participating this year. Or not. Whatever floats your boat.

Best of luck to my fellow NaNo novelists as we strive to hit the 50k mark. I have a feeling this year is going to be great.

Good luck, man!! As you know, I plan on participating too (at least as much as I can)--I'll enjoy talking to you over Skype and encouraging each other. ^^

Cool. I'll be trying it too this year, although with less focus on "I need to get this many words!" and more on "I should finish this story idea that's been in my head for ages."

Well, I also decided to give this month a run... But for something not Bionicle (DAI-GASUPU!!!). So far, I'm greatly enjoying the writing and finding little difference in the daily word count. Wow, I guess I write far too much on a daily basis...

:kaukau: This year I'm writing a story about Krypton before its immanent destruction, though unfortunately I didn't take the time to outline the narrative points and character ideas that I had before the month started. I have a lot of ideas, but they need to be structured so I can get into that very poetic form of mind that allows me to write with power. Also, I won't be able to write for these first few days because I have a lot of studying to catch up on. I'm pretty sure I can reach 50k before the month is up, but you will definitely have more words than me. That doesn't bother me too much, since the story I'm writing will probably be completely rewritten after I've read a ton of superman comics. At least I can generate a few ideas before revamping the whole thing to go better with the preexisting ideas within the current mythology.

For everyone else who's participating - Velox, xcj, and Kughii, I wish you the best of outcomes and hope to hear good reports 30 days from now!

This makes me want to continue writing my story...

Go for it, man. This is the time to do it (then again, it's always the time to write, so whatever).

I've always wanted to participate in one of these things, but I just don't have that much imagination.

Best of luck with yours! ^_^

Thanks :) .

I'll try to be on Skype as much as I can, but I can't say for sure how much time I'll spend on Skype due to how busy I am.

Nonetheless, I hope you finish this year. Hitting 50k is always an awesome experience, even if you've done it before.

That's actually a really good way to think of any writing project. Thinking in terms of word count can be highly restricting, which is why I usually only worry about word count during NaNoWriMo.

Hope you finish your story!

I try to use NaNo primarily for non-Bionicle works, myself, but sometimes I get a Bionicle idea and I have to write about it (Dimension Hoppers and The Legend Reloaded came from NaNo, for example).

That sounds like a cool idea, Kraggh. Are you going to post it on BZP when it's ready or is it just a personal project?
