I LOVED the "letters to Celestia" thing (especially how it evolved from the beginning, going from just being Twilight Sparkle's friendship reports to something all the Mane Six share), but with Twilight having "graduated" from being Celestia's student I think the friendship journal is a nice replacement. I wonder if they'll have one shared journal between the six of them or one journal each. I'd be fine with either.

 

I hope we see the friendship journals play an important role later on, kind of like how Twilight's friendship reports came back to save the day in the Season 2 premiere. Maybe there could be an episode where one of the Mane Six loses their friendship journal and becomes incredibly worried about it being lost due to all the valuable memories stored within. It's a situation a lot of people can relate to, (here on BZPower we've lost data several times now and there's been a bit of drama attached to it). The lesson could be something about how the experience itself is more valuable than just the written record of it.
