Instructions

I've noticed that my views spiraled up the last time I put some instructions up so I'm going to put up some more. :smilenuhvok: :smiletahnokkal: :angrypahrakkal:

The reason your views spiraled is because you split up every step into twenty five different blog posts, requiring each to be viewed one at a time. I strongly recommend getting all the pictures, uploading them to say, Brickshelf, and then posting links to each step with a small piece of instruction in one blog post.

okay, look. this is really easy, and much less annoying to everyone else.

go to brickshelf. make an account. upload your pictures.

make a single blog post with the images in it, using the link button on the text editor to make text links to your photos.

alternately, you could just upload the photos to BZPower and post them all in the same entry.

It's okay I never planed on creating an account for something and I never wanted to put them down all at once. But I will post more steps a day this time round!

STOP. Just upload all the pictures to your BZP gallery, and link to them in one big post, with instructions after each.

IT IS REALLY ANNOYING YOUR CURRENT WAY.

Please upload them all at once and into one post. Not only is it, as others have pointed out, rather annoying, but you'll actually get more comments and fans if you consolidate your images into one post.

Think of it in terms of a youtube video, where the person is explaining how to cook a huge turkey dinner for Thanksgiving.

One the one hand, they can give you a concise, 10-30 minute long video that will explain everything for you and you'll be able to move on with your life afterwards. This is convenient for you as the viewer, and because they went to that extra trouble you go "maybe I'll watch some more of their videos later".

Now imagine that the person uploaded a separate video for every single step of that meal, for every single individual dish. What was one 30 minute long video now becomes a slog, as there are 30-40 different videos that are completely useless and entirely pointless unless viewed altogether. If these videos are all uploaded on the same day, it appears very unprofessional and clogs up the inbox of subscribers, who will then leave. But if they are posted over the course of several days, then the viewers are going to dislike them regardless because the instructions are incomplete.

Nobody has a problem with you posting instructions, but hopefully that analogy helps to describe why you should keep it to one well-though out, concise post. It doesn't matter if it's large.

Um, brickshelf didn't work.

Link to comment

maybe you could. explain a little better what exactly isn't working. then i'd be able to help you

When I tried to create an account it said it would send me a confirmation code, so when I opened my e-mail I got a notice from them saying that I had to update something, along with no confirmation code. So I clicked update and it said I needed to create a Brickshelf account to update!
