Your title implies that you pronounce "MOC" as an initialism. Thank you.

Which is grammatically incorrect, as English copywriting and editing rules specifiy that unless the name of an organization (and even then, unless specified by the company), if it is pronounceable than it is to be pronounced as a word.

I'm in A STAGE WHERE I HIT CAPSLOCK WHEN I'M TRYING TO HIT THE "A" BUTTON ON MY KEYBOARD, WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?!

(Anyway, I'm in a stage where I'm pronouncing them both ways because I'm trying to mock it up).

I protest your societal constructs that is grammar and shall pronounce the dang thing as an acronym as I always have. Take that patriarchy grammarchy!

Acronyms are pronounceable, initialisms are not. As the abbreviation can be said as a word, both major editing and grammar style handbooks would require it to be pronounced as a word.

Also anyone attending a convention would immediately realize that the pronounceable form is the predominant form. Sorry. :(

The reason I've always pronounced it as an initialism is because it sounds really stupid when said.

I know everyone says it that way and I certainly don't object to people using it in such a way (otherwise I wouldn't be able to stand BrickFair), but I honestly cannot bring myself to say it as an acronym because it sounds like I'm saying that I "mocked" something.

That's fair, but I think it sounds really really stupid when spoken as letters.

See, I added an extra "really" and that means I win. ;)

Really really really better as Em Oh See.

Am I doing it right?

No because I'm your boss and I said I win already.

Could we at least all just agree that saying "creation" is a much more grammatically correct way of referring to MOCs?

Seriously - substitute the words "My Own Creation" for "MOC" in any way it's used on BZP.

To be fair, that's an accurate description of what happened amongst those who disliked Trans Tamaru.

To be fair, there's something to be said for an excellent MOC, er, creation.

Even if you don't agree with MakMak's non-canon philosophy. :P

Not really? Conversations in any of my topics either here, on Flickr, Tumblr or Facebook have been very civil.

I know this because I've been watching them very carefully, like the desperate attention-seeker that I am.
