There are like... So many uses for potatoes.... Now I want potatoes.

I'm now pretty much obligated to recount the time my dad ordered a steak with mashed potatoes, a baked potato, and potato chips.

Okay, you ready? You didn't ask for this but you're getting it:

 

Boiling potatoes is good for mashing them (in which case put them on and go play video games/watch something else while they boil). If you don't mash them, put salt in the pot with them to give them some taste and season them after. But boiled potatoes are boring and take a while.

 

An alternative is to half-boil them, then fry them for a homefries/papas bravas sort of thing. It works and it's less dull than watching them boil.

 

Don't peel lemons (unless you want the zest for a drink), instead slice them and squeeze. Put some in the boiling pot of potatoes. Potatoes are really versatile.

 

You can also boil 'em, mash 'em, and stick 'em in a stew.
