Gali Masters Mosaic?

Sections:

[01][02][03]

[04][05][06]

[07][08][09]

[10][11][12]

So, what do you think? This has been recolored to better fit a selection of colors that are easy to utilize. )The red is just outlining the 32x32 sections.) The blue on the shoulders / thighs is dark azure, because I have a lot of that color in bricks. I expect to do at least one of those sections to use my supply, and I can probably cover all of them it nobody else has enough of the bricks in that color. I also made the skull spider green and lime... which is technically not set accurate, but some of the spiders in the comics / animations haven't been exact color matches either. I had to do the color change because the "silver" blended in too much with my white and light gray background. Also, an interesting thing I'd like to try for the heads (well, Gali's, at least) is use trans colored plates for the eyes. In Gali's case, maybe trans neon green over blue plates? Trans red over green for the skull spider?

There are a few sections that are kinda boring swaths of mono-color, but what can you do?

So, any interest? Or should I try one of the other Toa instead? (If there is interest, I can post higher-res picts of the individual pieces later.)

Bigger images so it's easier to base off when you're using it as a guide to build the individual mosaic pieces. (You wanna try counting out individual studs at that size, eh?) I guess that's not higher resolution per say, but how else were you going to get nitpicky about the word choice then? :glare:

I have plenty of black, grey, white, blue, green, and lime green so I would be willing to do one or two of the tiles that doesn't have much azure.

Looks nice. My only issue is that the "BZPower" text feels a bit small and boring. It'd be cool if you could make it bigger and more like this version of the site logo. I just did a version here that would fit nicely in that corner.

One issue I see here if you wanted to do this as a collab is the purple. In this image, I'm not sure what kind of purple it's supposed to be, but the only color of purple 1x1 brick is Medium Lilac/"Dark Purple". 1x1 bricks in that color appear in both current sets and older ones, but it's still a bit rare!

Also, Dark Azur might present some problems, since 1x1 bricks do not exist in that color, which might make some edges hard to fill out. Medium Azur ones do, but again, they're kind of rare — Heartlake High is the only set with more than five of them.

Not sure how best to solve those problems. Mosaics are not my forte.

Maybe it's just me, but that mosaic picture doesn't look too good. Maybe I'm a little too up close and personal to appreciate it though. :shrugs:

Yeah, the BZP logo could be replaced. I used the thin standard that was adopted for the BrickFair mosaics, but in those cases space was limited, whereas here there's lots of empty room to fill.

The purple would probably be the dark purple that you mentioned (or, for reference, the one found in the latest Onua set.) (There's also medium lavender 1x1 bricks, but even tho I have some I don't have a lot cause they did only come in one set.) I know I personally have enough in dark purple to cover this, but it wouldn't hurt to exchange a 1x1 for a 1x2 in some places. The same goes for dark azure. I didn't check too closely, so I guess there are some spots where you'd need a 1x1, but again I would just tweak the spacing and put a 1x2 in. For azure, it helps that there's a lot of medium blue surrounding in, so you could easily exchange one color for the other on the borders.

fighers64- I'd need something more specific of what's off if I want to fix it, unless you're just referring to the whole thing in which since this project really hasn't gone anywhere it'll be easy to kill it.

No worries. What looks off to me are the maroon bits, especially on the face as it breaks up the expression. Not sure why there is a big maroon splash on the chest either - kinda looks like blood.

But that's just my opinion, though. Take with salt.

The program thinks that's actually brown, which I think works find with the yellow and tan in the mask to give some of the ridges more detail. (Or, well, tries to work.) The torso part could easily get changed to dark gray or something. (The program likes adding brown as a kind of extra shading, like how half of the original was also dark green even tho that color never really appeared in the picture at all...)
