I Still Don't Like Ants

But Ant-Man was a good movie.

Some great action, some decent characters. Pacing felt a little off near the middle, but the finale was solid. But it played it high with the humor, which I really appreciate. A lot of LOL moments, especially with his "crew". But quite a few deaths in this one too, and although a lot weren't a huge focus, there were a few that were emotional. Still, would see again. Probably will see again.

Still, some of the swarm scenes with the ants creeped me out. I'm not a big fan of ants IRL. It was cool to see them acting like a team (and god forbid ants actually learned how to do that IRL our species would be toast) but there were a lot of scenes that felt more realistic and thus squeamish-worthy.

The Avengers scene with Falcon was a definite stand out. I like how they played it here, and more than made up for Sam Wilson not playing a larger role in Avengers II. Also, the descriptive bit about why they didn't go to the Avengers in the first place. Oh, and I guess a significant set up for Civil War... I think.)

Wasp felt very much like War Machine in the first Iron Man movie. She's teased, but probably won't show up until Ant-Man II... if that's a thing that happens.

Oh, and I'm fairly certain that was a Spider-Man reference at the end.

Make sure to stay until the very end... there are TWO end credit scenes here, and both are worth it.

While I refuse to click on that spoiler until I see the movie tonight, I've heard a lot of people say that the end-credit scenes are excellent so now I will drive myself crazy trying to guess what they are

They actually reveal the two crossovers for Ant-Man. First, Johnny Storm takes up the mantle and becomes Fire Ant. Then, later, James Rhodes does the same, becoming Army Ant

I was actually really annoyed with how Wasp (or whatever her name was) was handled. They were trying way too hard to write her out of a movie that she had every right and reason to be in. Much moreso than Rudd's character.

I like the part when Peter Parker shows up with his Ant May.
