I agree. I wish there were a way to stop people from enjoying things wrong. Disgusting.

 

I think cinemas should issue quiz sheets before every ticket purchase. One wrong answer and you're out. And written answers only, because multiple choice allows the risk of casuals getting in on a fluke.

I think anything less than showing your original ticket stub from watching the original films should be grounds for ejection. No ID, no movie.

In that case, fishers, you should bring your DVD proof-of-purchase. And a signed statement saying that you have watched the DVD.

 

With confirmation from a notary public.

But I used the library. And it was in another state, so it's not just like I can bring proof of library DVD checkout.

and it CANNOT be the remastered versions. you MUST have seen the original trilogy without any edits, and bring a receipt and copy showing you have done so.
