In honor of the impending release of Captain America: Civil War, whose side are you on: Captain America (the Avengers should have the freedom to do what needs to be done) or Iron Man (the Avengers should have accountability for their actions and answer to a governing body)?

Hmm... on one hand, leaving them free to do anything could make it easier for them to abuse their power, maybe.  On the other hand, screw the man.

I'm on the side of Princess Mononoke because wolves are rad.

While I think you could get a lot done if you had people with super powers working above the law, we are left with the famous question from another superhero movie: who watches the Watchmen?

Iron Man. At the end of the day, they are still American citizens, and should have to abide by their laws. (Thor being the obvious exception.)

Heroes should be held accountable for what they do. While they'll probably be subject to more lax standards due to the nature of their jobs, free reign to anyone with that kind of power is dangerous.

My answer is sort of a mix of both. Ultimately at the end of the day, I would choose Cap's side. But I do think that they should have at least some accountability for their actions if things go south on a mission. Maybe not from a governing body that could possibly prevent them from what they need to do or send them on a mission where they shouldn't be involved in the first place, but someone or some other organization that could hold them accountable for their actions, and only do that.
