I would tell you to get the set with Dogshank in it because it's an awesome set and DS is just one of the cool figs in it.

Good to hear it's a good set. I'm on the fence, but kind of want it because, well, we know who built it.

Bigfigs are certainly neat! I've been a fan of the idea ever since the giant trolls from the fantasy castle theme, which could be considered sort of a precursor to the modern bigfig design. They're great for monstrous, muscular designs that are still generally humanoid. And I love the way most of their hands are designed to grip both standard minifig accessories (with 3.2 mm bars) and larger 1 module wide objects including System bricks or even the legs of traditional minifigures!

The only modern bigfigs I have are Gorilla Grodd, Mungus, and Dogshank. Mungus is particularly interesting, since instead of a pre-molded head he has a minifigure neck, head, and the same Chima "mask" used for the smaller Mammoths! Dogshank also has some added connection points on her back for attaching flags.

The brick-built ones like Groot are an interesting recent development. Sparkks and Burnzie from Nexo Knights are similar to Groot, but like Mungus have an actual minifigure neck connection! The new Giant-Man figure is also quite interesting, and I'd love to see more brick-built figs like him in the future!

On one final bigfig-related note, I love the bigfig Killer Croc in the Lego Batman Movie trailer! He's pretty much a standard sort of bigfig design, with one major difference—his "head" is the same as the head of the classic Lego crocodile!

Mungus was a character I always wanted, mostly so I could stick absurd heads on that torso for no good reason.

 

Now, Giant Man was extremely interesting. LEGO's sure to do more of that in the future, but what...

 

And of course, the set version has a lame head that doesn't represent Killer Croc at all.
