I've recently been taking some close examinations towards the new summer canister sets. I do have mixed feelings on the look of them as of now.

 

But, I have put them aside do to the large amount of MOCing possibilities! :D Yes... yes... this will be fun!

 

I have been making some plans for what I'll do with each character for revamps. I'll begin with the Makuta in this entry.

 

Bitil:

 

Bettle I suppose by the context of the name. He strangely resembles the Cicindela aurofasciata, a type of tiger beetle. Tiger beetles often have large bulging eyes, long, slender legs and large curved mandibles. He is lacking a few of the details, so I'll give him the slender body, instead of the short and bent one. I'm thinking of a tall frame, and neck to match. A custom head will be in need. It'll have to fit with the long neck, and iclude some custom antena.

 

Like all insects, beetles' bodies are divided into three sections: the head, the thorax, and the abdomen. I may attempt to seperate the body into the three parts, but still keep the appearance smooth. It all depends on my skill level by that time.

 

I'll need to work on some layering with this guy. Probably black as an outer color, a the yellow as an under layering, to create that exoskeleton affect. I'm really feeling the urge to make wings that fold over the back like a casing. Of course, this means I'll have to ditch those other ones...

Krika:

 

I'm not sure what this one is. I like him though. I have a few ways to attack his design.

 

The whole main body will be one long slender structure. No spikes, or armor that disrupts the elegence of this creature.

 

The head will be the same, with a similiar neck to the one I will use for Bitil. I'm not really sure with the appendages yet... they will take time...

 

As far as colors go, I'll stick with these. Similar to Bitil with the layering. No wings...

Gorast:

 

She has a strange head.... it will be hard to work with. I'll add antena, and probably round out that head of hers.

 

Same with the layering, black, with an under belly of green. I'll probablt stcik with the four arms also. I'm thinking of long legs and an average body.

 

Ah! Love the wings, and I won't change the one bit. I'll probably need four though...

Interesting ideas, but I imagined Bitil sounding like how it's spelled. Like, Bi (bi as in biff) + til (til as in until).

 

Oh, and, good luck with the Toa. I hope you can make them better!

I see what your doing to bitil, but doesn't he, some what, look like a bee or wasp.

I don't see what you could also do to edit Krika since he is the coolest Mistika right now. However, you could edit his arms so that they bend and that he will have more poses. I think this might help - he looks like a spider, some how. I'm not sure if that help, but you could base him off one.

I still think you should use hind legs for Gorast, they suit her.

Good luck with your plans! My only problem with these sets as they are is that they have Matoran limbs all over! It simply disgusts me. BTW, I wish you luck on the Toa, it's gonna to be difficult... Coughcoughfixtahucoughcough... Ahem...

I personally think Krika looks like a Mantis, maybe do something like that?

i agree a base him on a praying mantis 4 legs wings and the two massive claw type things
