(literally) Shiny New Guitar. ^^

I got back earlier today from a friends, and I glance in the rearview mirror because, after reading a certain xkcd, I stare into the rearview mirror to try and see the eyes of the person behind me. Anyway, while doing this, I notice something in the back. I figure I'll find out more when I get home. Once I got home I looked in the back to find a black hardshell flight case. I take it inside, and down to the basement, where I always do this kinda stuff.

First, sorry about the mess, but anyone in the guitar topic can attest it's been that way for a while. Second, any guitarist can see it's a guitar case. I also figured this at first, but didn't know why there would be a guitar case in a shape different than the one for my guitar in the back of the car, so I figured it was a flight case for something else.

 

Anyway, I undid the latches and grinned when I see I'm mistaken. ^^

 

The pictures don't do it justice, it's much prettier in person.

 

Turns out while I was at my friends house my uncle called saying he finished setting up the Fender Stratocaster he was selling me. My mother decided to meet him and surprise me with it. It worked. ^^

 

Now for a few more pictures, just because I like gloating. ^^

 

It gets a nice bright blue when light like a flash hits it.

So far it's been a lot better than I expected, in all areas. Looks, playability, sound, it's a lot better than I thought it'd be, and even better in some ways than my old guitar, which is a nice guitar.

 

I doubt many of the non-guitarists I know will flip over this, but feel free to leave a comment even if you don't play. ^_^

Congrats, I thought you were still undecided. Anyway, Strats are quite nice (my friend has a 1999 Stratocaster) and sounds really nice. I know that humbucker pickups have a stronger output but no doubt this would compare very well.

 

My parents did the same on my Birthday, they bought me a guitar strap and told me to go down stairs to play guitar (even though I didn't want to), I came down and saw the case open with fake $100 dollar notes. Then I noticed it was custom fit, I looked at the guitar stand and the Mira was there.

Difference is you got a PRS. New PRS Mira > used MIM Fender stratocaster. :P

 

Would be cooler if it were a Telecaster.

 

I agree, but the cheapest used tele around here was a $750 used Am. Standard, and I couldn't afford that. ><

I can haz? =P Congrats, nice guitar. It pawns my Starcaster.

 

And Kaius, that's what my parents did with my Ric. I went to play guitar, and I saw the 4003, just sitting there in all it's glory. I freaked out, quite literally lol.
