My Halloween Story

Yes, it's late, but gather around the campfire for an incredible story.

OK, for Halloween, I dressed up in black slacks, a white button up shirt, black tie, black overcoat, and black dress shoes. I had a perfect set of earphones (in black) that I put one ear in, and let the cord wrap around my ear and fall through the back of my shirt, only showing a small part of one cord. Also, I wore my awesome black shades. Initially, I thought of myself as Secret Service, but I realized how much more fun it would be to be a part of the IRS.

Seriously... Ghosts, Goblins, etc., they can be scary, but what's scarier than an IRS agent showing up on your doorstep telling you that you're being audited?

Yes, that's exactly what I did. Instead of yelling "Trick or Treat", I pulled out a nice little metal badge and yelled, "IRS, you're being audited!"

I got a wide variety of great reactions from people, but the best reaction was from a guy that lives on 2nd street here in town. Said man opened up the door into the entryway of his house, probably 3 feet away from a screen door leading outside (where I was standing) and did a double take. Seriously, the guy practically jumped when he saw me standing outside. He cautiously approached the door and opened it. I only managed to say part of my line though. Just as I finished saying "IRS", the guy swears and shuts the door in my face. As he begins to turn around to walk away, he stops, reopens the door and says, "Wait, you want candy, right?" I nodded, almost stunned at his reaction. He gives us candy, and we go on our merry way.

The next day, I talk to my parents about my experience, and my mom has me show her the guys house. Once she sees it, she begins laughing. Hard. She explains to me that this guy got into trouble with the law sometime last year. Something about him vandalizing federal property. Turns out, the situation was never completely resolved, and he's still got some court hearings coming up. Undoubtedly, when he saw me, in full suit, earbud, and shades, he thought the feds were coming after him; hence his reaction!

poor guy.

But seriously, lol. It's a smart idea. I should do that next year.

Or I could use my Vakama Hordika Voice Changer.

Honestly though, that's a good story, and a very good idea.
