• His/her/its back is facing us

• That appears to be an Inika torso

• It has Onua/Krika armor

• It has the short double-joint connectors used in its arms, and possibly its legs

• It has Matoro Mahri shoulder armor on its thighs

• It has a Throwbot foot around the hip area

• It has something over its ankles

All taken from this picture.

Is this a summer 2009 sets? Because discussion, pictures, etc are not yet allowed here as far as I know.

Check the front page and linked content within.

It could also be the chest piece of a Metru Toa...

Torhuki

No, Metru chests have the little things that flare out to either side of the holes. I'm pretty sure that's a foot. :/

Hey Bfa, I think it's facing us. Look at the staff shadow and the Inika legs.

It has some variation on Mutran's staff.

Visorak pincers?

And we can't tell if it has a launcher. =\

I would have to agree with Inquisition. Also, look at its knees. They're bent the wrong way if it's facing away from us.

Oh, and I think the legs are Inika legs.

Why would shadows tell us which way it's facing?

Really? They look like they're bent right to me…

I'm basing this on the fact that if you look really reeeeeally closely at the ankles and knees, you can see the color difference. And to me it looks as if we're looking at the back of the knee due to the seeming placement of the socket joint. Also, if there's something covering the ankles, I doubt LEGO would put it behind the foot. :/

It is facing us, and you can tell by the shadows.

Look at the shadow on the staff. The shadow starts behind where the shadows for the feet start, meaning the end of the staff is "deeper" in the image than the feet, meaning the tip of the staff is facing us. A character would not be posed with the tip of its staff pointed toward its back.

To me it looks like he's walking (or standing in a walking-like pose) and the staff is used kinda like a walking stick.

I'm seeing it facing away, having its left leg farther away, right leg closer, staff about the same area as the left leg pointing away from us.

But frankly I'd rely more on the color differences from part to part than which way the shadows go, because it really could be either way. :/

Tcheeeeh, if I were at home I could copy this into Photoshop and run a drastic contrast adjustment to bring out minute details in the silhouette, if they exist... as is, I'm on a laptop several states away. Ah well. Someone else can try if they want to.

._.

Didn't think of that…

So here.

And maybe sorta this.

Ah, not quite, there's a better way.

You select only the silhouette; the area that appears to the naked eye to be one big solid color; exclude the aread with the ? superimposed. Apply the contrast adjustment to only that selection; it will pick out the details only within the silhouette without being affected by the large contrast differences with the background.

Looks rather complicated to do by hand, dunno if the program you're using has a select-color range option.

Yeah, I just adjusted the contrast in Preview. It's really basic but it's quick.

No it is facing us. Look at the staff and the angle and where it hits the ground. Behind him. How could it hit the ground in front of you?

Actually, using Bfa's contrast pic, it does seem to be facing away.

But then...what the heck kind of feet are those?

Is it really that important? =P

That second one adds more to the obvious fact that this is the eagerly-awaited Toa Mata Nui.

The placeholder Matoro-esque version of him on the back of the comic had Matoro Inika's color scheme. It would appear from the second image that so does this.

I did notice something new, if I can somehow slip it in between your bickering about the point of view (seriously, why)....

The haft on the sword-staff is not a regular axle. That looks more like a Kopaka Phantoka dagger.

As I said before, walking stick motion.

HEY GUYS

It's facing away. (this might never end! lol)

Look at his hand. (too lazy to link a cropped pic)

Owned.

Of course, he could just be CG, in which case they may have removed his colors completely and you're just getting random glare from the page.
