Guns ARE better than swords. You don't have to go within 2 yards of somebody to clobber them with a gun of any sort. It's not quite the same with a sword, though. (You can throw swords, but that is not very effective

What about Gunswords?

They sucketh because the freaking blade keeps getting in the way.

A rifle/Skyblaster with a bayonet is good, though. Especially if the design is cool.
