Gregf, And Bzp's Utter Patheticness In This Situation.

First off, I know that's not a word.

 

First time I've posted or written a blog entry or posted in a while, but I've got to say, this thing with GregF is absolutely pathetic. I mean, he decides to leave because you bunch of kids pester him and just do things utterly stupid, and yet you try to MAKE him come back? I'd expect better.

 

Check out these two topics.

 

Now, if he decided to leave because of feeling pressured, do you honestly think trying to pressure him into coming back will help? Really, that is absolutely pathetic.

At the end of the day, the topic is fairly pointless, for the following reasons:

 

1) I have been a professional writer longer than most of you have been alive. I am already well aware of any shortcomings I have in that dept., so pointing them out helps me not at all. (I don't spend a lot of time on scenery description? Heck, never noticed that in the 25+ novels I've written in my life. Please.)

 

2) There are a grand total of two more books in the series -- one is written, and the other is a movie novelization, so it is based on a script I did not write. So nothing in this topic is going to change anything because there are no more books in which to change it.

 

3) Comparing me to Tolkien and Chaim Potok and other famous writers is, frankly, stupid -- I am not claiming the BIONICLE books are the Great American Novel, and they were not writing a book series for children based on a toy line. It's like picking up an album of music from Disney films and complaining that Beethoven is a better composer, or picking up one of the Level 3 readers and saying the art is good, but that guy Rembrandt is way better.)

 

Pretty much the only thing that got accomplished here was to make me feel bad, particularly after how hard I have been fighting to protect YOUR interests in the story over the last several months. That said, I am going to be taking some time off from BZPower until I feel like coming back here again.

Okay,

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, if they want to express that Greg isn't their favorite writer, they can. It gets bad when people dive in to his defense, making a ###### huge deal about it, and then the topic's starter goes into arguments with them.

 

I realize this site is aimed towards children ~8-13 years of age, but I'm amazed that no one has sufficiently taken care of this [REMOVED - Can't use explicit acronyms. -Shine].

I don't care about him taking a break, I'm just saying that the way that most members are treating this is utterly annoying and shortsighted. :/

I couldn't agree more. Be rude to any other member and you lose proto or face administrative action, but be rude to GREG FARSHTEY OF ALL PEOPLE and nothing happens.

*Sigh...* Yes, I do get your point, but I do not think it's relevant. Of course people came to his defense! Someone makes a topic bashing one of the reasons Bionicle exists and you think people won't get angry? Come on! Also, while I agree he won't come back when people try to pressure him, but still, people want him back. The site isn't the same without him.

Yes, I realize that; however, if they want him to eventually come back, why not be rational and actually think about it? >_<

For the record, I was not trying to pressure GregF into coming back to BZP, or rile up everyone into arguing with my entry. I really just wanted people to try to view him in a more positive light, not just as some writer that they expect to constantly write a top-notch storyline and answer all their questions. He's a human being, for goodness sake! He has his own life out of Bionicle and his work for Lego, yet people don't really seem to comprehend that.

 

But, no, once again, my words are misunderstood and I'm left feeling even more frustrated because almost every time I put a well-thought out and reasonable argument, it's either ignored or misinterpreted.
