Tarix is an awesome set, although I don't have any other Glatorian to compare him to. I realize he doesn't appeal to all, so I'd say Malum. He'd be the next I would get(besides Mata Nui).

I haven't noticed anything about them that would make one cooler then the other, so...

Strakk. Hands down.

Or Ackar, but he's a summer set.

If possible try and find any of last years sets, because I will not recommend any 09 sets at all. Except maybe Fero and Skirmish. That beast looks cool. *shrug*

 

I don't have many Glatorian myself, so I may not be one to judge, but I'd say my favorite of the ones I have is Skrall. Lots of spiffy new pieces on that guy. Although I don't have Vorox yet...

 

I'd suggest one of those two, mainly for that new armor piece.

 

I'm not so big on Strakk, to be honest. He seems too similar to the ice sets we've had before, and the ice pieces just aren't enough to interest me. Although that is just me.

I don't have a Glatorian yet, but I'd have to go in a different direction than the majority and say Skrall. Sure, he's black and gray, but he has Mata Red and his weapons and mask are totally sweet-- and did I mention that shield? =DD

Pleasantly enough, Skrall has no gray on him. Just good ol' Mata red and black .

 

Anyway, out of the ones my brothers and I have, I recommend Gresh or Tarix or Metus. They're three very good sets and very neat. But if I had to narrow it down to just one I'd recommend good old Gresh. Sure, he may be one of the more Inika-like of the group, but his color scheme is so vivid and contrasts so nicely it's almost hard not to say yes to him. Also, his spikes and weapons are pretty cool, too.

 

(Though if you were willing to get a $20+ set, I would recommend Tuma. He's large and in charge XD)

Well I already have two 08 sets (gasp!), and one reason I wanted to get a new one 'cause of drawing. I draw a Bionicle so much better when I have a set on hand. And I'd like to draw some Bara Magna stuff, it's pretty cool imo.

I actually bought a Bionicle set recently, just to make myself feel better. Went with Skrall, since his shield is 110% awesome. And he looks very wicked and interesting. He sits on my desk, and when I get tired of my work, I'll pick him up and just pose him idlely. The only sets I'd bought before him were a couple Av-Matoran and the new Lewa. Now I want to buy more again, like I used to.

All the Glatorian are pretty neat as I see it. Strakk's definitely a cool set, but in regard to a set you have to actually own to understand and appreciate it I'd recommend Malum. Pics don't do him justice. Skrall and Tarix are also awesome, but my advice is to go with Malum.

 

Agori are cool too, but they'll be easy to figure out from pics and won't be good models for any poses you hope to use for them. Midsize (canister sets) are definitely the way to go.

 

As some folks say, the summer sets are pretty nice, although in all fairness Ackar's the last set I'd recommend. It's pretty easy to figure out his design and overall look from pictures alone, and for someone who's not a collector or MOCist he's got little to offer. Which, sadly, can be said of several of the summer sets, though I guess we'd have said that about the winter sets if ToyFair had been our first exposure to them. All I can say about the summer dudes (and, possibly, dudette) is to wait for them to appear in story if you're willing to wait to get them anyway.

Welllll...my brother has Tarix, Malum, a Skrall, and a couple of Agori, so I can offer -some- thoughts. All three of those Glatorian are spiffy, it's hard to pick a favorite. The Skrall are awesome cuz they're totally just like little Bionicle Spartans; Tarix is just awesome, he brings back the lovely dark blue and a decent mask/helmet design to the blue sets, and he has swords of blue fire which is just awesome; Malum has really schweet armor and lovely Mata red and orange. Really, all of three o' those look like to draw. Or Vorox mayhaps, but I haven't seen that set in person.

 

Don't buy Strakk tho, he annoys me to no end. Okay, you can if you want, but I nurse a deep loathing towards that guy. So be warned.
