Halo Graphic Novel
I just finished the Halo Graphic Novel... kind of a letdown.
The Last Voyage of the Infinite Succor: The story was... okay. Pretty interesting. But the art... it was all dark and confused... and the flood was like lime green and pink, and there were piles of skulls in all the monsters... ??? Seriously it made no sense.
Armor Testing: I really liked the art but there was pretty much no story or interesting info tidbits until about the last page when you find out the Spartan had retired and now had a family. The rest was just her running around a training facility whupping ODSTs.
Breaking Quarantine: Best art in the book by far. Really great looking stuff: True to the game and realistic, but still pretty stylized and interesting. But the story was not something that needed to be told. It was just Johnson running away from Flood. That's it. There was no dialogue, and the only words in it were like... grunts... in Japanese.
Second Sunrise Over New Mombasa: Best story. I wish the artists for Breaking Quarantine and SSONM switched or something, because the art in this one was... bright... and kinda ugly... but... bright? The story was about the twisted media and Covenant killing civilians. Bright? Really?
So basically, borrow it from the library like I did, if you're a Halo fan. No way I'd tell someone to buy this.
