Sounding pretty good! In my opinion, I prefer the version without the sound effects, but I've always had a preference for CD books with just the reading and no music or sound effects because I always found it distracting. I actually didn't mind the music in your version, because it was loud enough to be there and have effect, but dim enough so that it wasn't the main focus or distracting. So, if you want my honest opinion, my preference would be to have a version with the music, but without the sound effects. (Of course, that then puts up a third option, so if I were to play by the rules and choose my favorite of the two options available, I'd say I prefer the one with just the reading and without the music and sounds)

Just so its clear, i just need you guys to tell me which version you perfer.

so in your post, just put "yes i want sound effects" or "no i don't want sound effects.

Edit: O Yes, i ment to tell you this earlier LK, but my internet was acting up. I do want a third choise of and audiobook, with music, but without sound effects.

Okay, fixed that. So now guys, third option is pointed out now. Yes/no on an audiobook with sound effects and music, without sound effects, or nothing at all.

Aaah, I dunno...I liked both versions.0: The sword sound effects and the wind was awesome...but at the same time, I like it with nothing in the background. Bah.

 

Tho just as a suggestion, if you decide to use the version with sound effects/music, it might be a good idea to remove the clanking sounds from the part where it says something like "Tachi clattered almost silently across the roofs." Then again, 'clattered' and 'almost silently' is kind of an oxymoron...hm. Maybees I should go back and reread the actual epic.

Already having worked with Skully's earlier Podcast project, I'm gojng for an audiobook with music and sound effects.

I'll go with the version lacking sound effects and music. It just sounds more professional to me.

 

Though it might be a good idea to include music in between chapters/parts. That would help set the mood without disrupting the story.

So far i have, 1 for no sound effects, 2 for music but no sound effects, and 3 for both music and sound effects.

Also, as a note, the sound effects seemed a bit like they were chopped off at the end. It's hard to explain, but it's sorta like if you suddenly turned off a radio, like an abrupt end. Like when Tachi landed on metal, for instance.

 

But I'm still voting for both.

 

I'm all for just the plain audio with no effects or music.

I am for music and effects. I have heard audiobooks of that style before and they were very good.

I agree. Music to get the mood set and keep it going. Sounds good to me.

Well, it's decided!

An Audiobook with music, but no sound effects.

Sound effects are the second hardest thing about an audiobook, so i am relived to not have to do'em for this one, all though at times they do sound cool.
