Passion Pit?

If this disappoints me, I will come to your house, and I will cut you.

EDIT: GOOD NEWS! I like them, you won't get cut.

Ooooh, someone who actually listens to a few bands I do. AWESOME. I don't see that enough around here. I'll give you a few of the obvious (to my hipster indie-soaked mind). Though they're only obvious because they're just that good. And also because I think I listen to every indie band that's currently operating in Canada that's any good.

Swan Lake! You like Wolf Parade and Sunset Rubdown, apparently (which is an excellent thing), and it's got Spencer Krug in it. It's got the three most annoying voices in Canada. And it's amazing.

Final Fantasy. Not the games. The musician. He does violin stuff, is a bit geeky in his own odd and dramatic way, and makes some incredibly beautiful music. He tours sometimes as the violinist for Arcade Fire.

Destroyer! Destroyer's pretty much my favorite band. Takes a bit of getting used to, Dan Bejar's a fantastic songwriter, is always changing and moving in a really good way, and is generally lots of fun. I'd suggest starting with Destroyer's Rubies, since that's pretty accessible pop at its heart, and is pretty much a good statement of what Destroyer is about. Dan Bejar also works with Spencer Krug sometimes (like in Swan Lake, which you need to listen to), and has like, a million side projects. Including the New Pornographers. Which I also recommend if you don't listen to them.

YEAH AND IF YOU DON'T LISTEN TO THE NEW PORNOGRAPHERS YET YOU SHOULD BECAUSE NOTHING MAKES ME HAPPIER.

And Hank Williams, since apparently you like everything but modern country, which means you must like old country. If not, then put your money where your mouth is, because old country is awesome and Hank is the best at it there is.

Jimmie Rodgers is also cool if you can handle THE FURY OF THE SINGING (ie: yodeling) BRAKEMAN.

Eeeee! Thankyourhankyouthankyou.

And yeah, you nailed it on the head about modern and old country.

And yeah, hard to find something I don't listen to, besides for radio (excepting the college and classical stations, of course).

Cage the Elephant - Weird kind of country funk mix. I'm not really into country at all, but I love them.

Arctic Monkeys - British indie rock group. Pretty awesome.

Mungus - Indie band that sounds a lot like Tool. Their only album is up for free download on their site.

Serat - Serj Tankian and his buddy's solo project. It's got a really weird middle eastern type sound to it.

Lightning Bolt - The whole band consists of a bassist and drummer. It's more drone/noisy, but I really like them.

Eighties Matchbox B-line Disaster - Punk band, they sound a lot like the Dead Kennedys and I <3 their vocalist.
